I'm moving to LA to go to college for film production and I really want to meet famous or relatively famous people, like on a person-to-person basis. I'm a pretty good-looking guy (2 model scouts have come up to me before and asked me about modelling on separate occasions) and I come from a well-off family, I drive a BMW and I'm pretty fun to be around. So, if I went clubbing or out to eat at LA celebrity hot-spots often, do you think I could meet famous people? And when I say meet, I mean exchange phone numbers and hang out and stuff. 1) because it would be really cool, and 2) because it would help to know people in the industry,

thanks! :)

Celebs get hit on all the time by strangers at clubs and restaurants, and I don't believe they take kindly to it. The best way to meet those kind of people is to make friends with connections to that scene. That way you can be properly introduced.

I hate to tell you but you just described about 80% of Los Angelenos description of themselves. I was born and raised here and a lot of people have this false sense of LA being an easy place to just jump into the biz.
The most likely place you are going to see a celeb is at a grocery store believe it or not. The club scenes out here are way differant. If you don't already have an inside person you aren't going to be getting into the clubs the celebs are hanging out at and just be exchanging numbers. You're going to be a small fish in a huge pond out here in a pool of sharks so just dont get to discouraged easily because it's extremely hard and competitive out here.
Good Luck

I hate to tell you but probably not. I live in California my whole life until about a year ago, in San Diego and just north of LA and I've never even seen a celebrity even we go to the places they supposedly hang out. They usually keep to themselves and if they do show up places stay in VIP areas that you probably won't have access to. My family is extremely well off but I have been to some very nices places and I've been asked to model to (I turned it down, it's not something I'm interested in). I know a few people who have seen a celebrity in passing but none have even gotten close.

zip..... sorry.

They are here, you'd know my father in law in a heart beat.... if you ever got to see him. He can't even leave his house, because he gets swamped if he goes tho the grocery store. The behind hte scenes folks can walk around, but not the famous. Part of the price of fame. My next-door neighbor ahs recieved her lifetime acheivement award as a director. She can go anywhere she wants, so you're getting it not he right end of the biz. But, I have to tell you, if you are as good looking as you say... the casting couch is alive & well & not only for actresses. That's why I'm not in the biz.
