My employer is forcing me to work 7 days a week, is that legal?

I am in Nevada, USA. The only reason I put up with it is that benefits are the best around.

It depends on where you live. Look for your labor standards office!

If he is a truck driver or an airline pilot, there are mandatory rest periods. The rest of us are free to agree to work 24/7 if we wish. The law requires only that he get overtime pay for anything over 40 hours in a week.

check with your state department of employment. In fact, there should be a giant sheet of employment rules posted in an employee-accessible area. The sheet usually says "IT'S THE LAW" up at the top.

I think the longest you can work without a day off is 10 days. If you are working seven days every week, then there's definitely a problem!!!

Don't Quote me on this, but I was always told that and employer has to give you at least one day off in a 14 day period

As per the Indian labour Law one should be given an off on the 10th day.

It might vary by state, but Im fairly certain that in Illinois that 7 is the max.

They can do it as long as you let them. You need to speak up and tell them that you need a day off....otherwise they will take advantage of you and work you to death.
