If someone today said they had a vision from God, would you believe them? If that someone said that He commanded them to write a new bible, and spread His word through them, would you believe? Or would you think it was just another psycho who needed to be locked up?

Good Lord, I asked a question, why do I have to be on drugs? And it doesn't mean that God messed up the first time, it might mean he changed his mind. For whatever the reason, if a prophet came forward, would any of you believe he was a prophet?

No where in the Bible does it say there will not be any new Prophets. So sure it could happen. And while the Bible does say there will be many who come in his name that will be false, does not mean everyone who comes in his name will be a false Prophet. So a new Prophet is definitely a possibility. Also since the Bible was not compiled until over 300 yrs after Christ was crucified man may have changed things so if God said correct the Bible or here is another book to go with the Bible sure that is a possibility. After all God is still God and he will make sure his word is on this earth no matter what. But man will twist his word and change it for their own means because that is the nature of man.
Some would believe but most would not because following God has never been popular and never will be. Following God will never be easy and you will always stand out when you follow him. You will be persecuted like the following of Christ in the early days.
So when the missionaries come knocking at your door saying they have a message for you from God, you may want to listen to them. The message will change your life if you let it, it will be richer in the spiritual sense and have so much more meaning to it.
P.S. to Dawn M the warning in Revelations only applies to the Book of Revelations. Why? Because the Bible was not compliled until 300 yrs after it was written. Until then there was just a collection of different book known as the Gospels of Jesus Christ. Alexander the Great commissioned them to be compliled and his scribe chose the books to put in the Bible and the order.

Well lots of people say they have visions from God, whether I believe them or not, I never say "thats a psycho that needs to be locked up" unless that vision was something like "Kill everyone and eat their dog!"
Write another Bible? Well they can if they want to but if it doesnt coincide with whats already IN the Bible then its just another false prophet like Joe Smith

If I am not mistaken it was stated in the Bible that there would be no more words of God?! I am not a Bible scholar so I could be off!
I have a tough time believing most people who state that they saw or did this whether it pertains to God or something entirely different! I am a bit of a skeptic. However I have had signs in my direction that are unmistakable. However I do not go around telling people to much about it! I could see where they would be skeptical, but I know what and why it happened and it all happened in about 16 hours!

We know that Jesus said that there would be false prophets and teachers. The Bible gives a guideline for all new material.
Isaiah 8:20 "to the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them."
If any part of the new prophecy contradicts what is written in the Bible, it should not be accepted. Be careful, it takes only a small deviation from the truth to become a lie.

There are prophets on earth right now. But I can't see any of them writing a new bible until the Revelations come to pass.
The Old Testament was not written while it was happening.
The new testament is both history and future events. When you
see "the world coming to an end" then believe the prophet will be
writing what God wants.

Jesus already said that there would be many false prophets coming, claiming they are the Messiah or God.
So yeah, I'd have to assume "crazy person" as well. The exception would be if the stuff they said did come true (like they say an earthquake will hit at a specific time, and it does, or if they say a volcano will erupt at a certain time, and it does).
Of course, people have to be skeptical, because sometimes it really is hard to know if God sent them, or if they're just crazy (even Moses asked for proof, cause he knew people wouldn't believe him if he said God sent him).

The Bible teaches us how to test a false prophet in:
Deuteronomy 18:22 “ When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken, but the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him.”
1Thessalonians 5:21 “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
Also another good one to read is:
1 John 4:1-6
Mormons have already tried this...and they failed the tests of the Bible!

If someone was commanded to write a new bible I would know that they were deluded. God would not do that. The truth His Son brought is complete, and needs not to be rewritten. There may be parts that some people don't understand or agree with, but the truth about the atoning death of His Son is clear, and the opportunity to come to Him is clear.

I hope a new bible would not be written. The bible confuses me! Am I alone?
1) The prophet "He had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines, and his wives led him astray." 1Kings 11:3
2) "If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay the girls father fifty shekels of silver." Deuteronomey 22:28
3) "And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her heat - it is just as though her head were shaved. If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off; (and) she should cover her head." 1Corinthians 11:5-6
4) "Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in church." 1 Corinthians 14:34-35
Another bible would just be more confusion for me and more for us to disobey, right?
Muhammad should have been prisoned! Telling women to cover their bodies and not let the world see what they posses. How can we advertise if women can't show their nakedness you know? And telling men and women we can't sleep around and have sex with whom we want unless we are married :( And saying we should believe in ONE God and worship Him 5 times a day.....I know that ALL things come from God, our food, clothing, health, family and the whole nine but don't we have other things to do besides pray 10-20 minutes every 4-5 hours??? We have lives! And all that respect your parents, do as they say unless it contricts the boundaries set by God.......our parents don't listen to us, all they did was clothe us and feed us, besides we didn't ask to be here. Oh yeah, don't forget Muhammad telling us we can't get drunk or do drugs (intoxicants)! What type of mess is that??? All that tell the truth, be good to your neighbor, don't go to sleep full while they are hungry, desire for others what you desire for yourself stuff is for the birds huh? Anyone who truly follows Muhammad is a stranger and this world must be like a prison to them, on the other hand Paradise will be a prize for them while the others soak in Hellfire. Isn't it ironic that the most evil people love the summer and laying under the hot sun as if they are getting themselves ready for their final home.
So what about you, would you believe?
