They both hate each other. Lie about each other. Can't live without each other. Can't stand each other? They both can't agree about anything and yet want the same thing. God wants a sin free world, and Satan wants a world of sin, but they both would equal a world free of guilt. God wouldn't punish you for being a saint, and Satan wouldn't punish you for being a sinner. You just choose what's best for you, what comes natural.
The basics: What God says the devil repeats, what God says about Satan, Satan throws back at God.
"I am God"-God
"I am God"-Satan
"Believe in me"-God
"Believe in me"-Satan
"Satan lies"-God
"God lies"-Satan
"I tell the truth"-God

One always tells the truth, the other always tells you lies.-the Bible

Which is which?
Is God, God? Is Satan, Satan?
Is Man, God? Is Man, Satan?
Is God, Satan? Is Satan, God?

All possibilities, get it right and you will go to heaven, get it wrong and you will go to Hell.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

If you continue to ask these questions in earnest, you will begin a wonderful and enlightening adventure. Don't give up. Demand to know. You have the right! You are hard-wired to find your source. Inquire, explore, knock. Seek truth in meditation, not in moldy old books. Look in the sky to find the moon, not in the pond. -an Ancient Persian proverb http://taobarbie.com

Man, I know my parents can be like that. Parents argue way too much, so do God and Satan. It is a neverending battle.

If it was really how they (religions) make it sound, then there really is no hope for humanity, why did the higher power created us as we are, not perfect? is like setting us up for failure and go to hell by default.
I LIke the Eastern thought approach, that doesnt buy into this madness

Why DO God and Satan come off sounding like our parents? You used a compound noun, and it behaves like a singular.

"God" (Spirit) is the source, substance, limits and bounds of all matter. Satan was CREATED from matter; therefore...
The answer is THERE ARE NOT TWO there is ONE...HOWEVER, THERE ARE various attributes of Spirit (GOD). One group "good", one group of attributes "evil"...The bible says in light, in darkness YOU are there oh God....Think and Grow!
