Being a night owl myself, here's what I do:
1. Try to go to bed earlier. I know this can be difficult. If you're anything like me, I get a second wind around night time, and don't want to go to bed. However, if your body has enough rest, it will be easier to get up in the morning. I know I feel a lot better when I do.
2. Convince yourself that you CAN and WILL get up at 5AM. Try doing some silent affirmations as you fall asleep. "I will wake up at 5AM." This method may take a few tries, but have faith that it will work, and it will.
3. I use my cell phone right beside my bed. I know that I won't hear the alarm the first two or three times that it goes off, so I purposely set it twenty to thirty minutes earlier than I actually have to get up. By the third time it goes off, I am somewhat coherant, and by the fourth, I can tear myself out of the bed.
4. Make it a habit. The more regularly you get up early, the easier it gets, mainly because your body will physically get accustomed to the habit. Give it a shot. Don't sleep past 8 or 9 on your days off, and you'll be able to get back in the groove easier.
5. Stay off the computer late at night!!! This is a big one for me. I know that if I start surfing around on the internat, my brain is all stimulated, and I don't want to stop. Next thing I know, hours have passed, and I am going to have to get up in three hours. If this is true for you, set a time for yourself that you have to get off the computer. Be diligent, and you will succeed.
That's what helps me. Hope it helps you!
Oh, and by the way, this whole bit about being immune to alarms...yeah, I used to think that about myself. Try the multiple snooze thing I mentioned in tip #3. Your body can only take it for so long, trust me...

I know this sounds crazy, but set every alarm possible, not all to go off at the same time but some at a minute after or whatever. TV's sometimes have alarms, cell phones, clock alarms, etc. I know that always helped me...if not I know verizon wireless has a wake-up call option in it voicemail settings...hmm good luck with that

After having been in the army I have an internal clock that goes off after 6 hours.. I can't sleep any longer than that. What I do when I need to get up at a certain time is got to sleep 6 hours before I need to get up. Setting the alarm just reminds me that this is indeed when I need to wake up.
How long do you usually sleep for?

I had the same problem. Try putting your alarm on the other side of the room. My problem was I would turn off my alarm and go back to sleep. You might want to get one on your cell phone as well set both for the same time.

layout an no longer user-friendly gadget that activates whilst your alarm has been ringing for 2 minutes, the gadget ought to drop a pail of water on you (properly no longer the pail itself however the water in basic terms), I won't flow into element into the gadget i'm going to go away that completely to you. yet in all seriousness you ought to perhaps verify to be certain if every physique can wake you up. or place the alarm perfect beside your head the place you sleep. like say positioned a chair close to the pinnacle of the mattress and the alarm on exact of that.

Had a friend with the same problem... you're going to need more volume than a typical alarm, my friend. Get a stereo with a timer... large speakers... except set your stereo to slowly increase the volume... you don't want full blast right away!

are you immune to an alarm turned up full blast (radio) and propped next to your pillow the night before? i'd think it would be impossible to sleep through that.

Buy a start-up alarm for your car.
Attach battery cables to your genitals, when your car revs up at 5 AM...
You'll wake up. :)
