I've been sick and tired of this lowlife for years and am glad to finally see him outed for the anti-Semite he is and has always been. Now, if only we can finally be rid of him once and for all...

Freedom! lmao...

Wow, quite a wide array of responses, some of which require replies by the asker (this would be me)...

ke su: Gibson has had no "spell" over me at any point in his wretched career, no worries. Anyway, he gets more than enough attention from the entertainment media; I am merely calling a spade a spade, hardly the attention he seeks.

hellion: I was baptized and raised Catholic, attending a private Catholic school until I was 13 and even serving as an altar boy. Who looks silly now, mate? And Gibson very definitely IS a vile anti-Semite!

ferdinand: I mostly liked your answer and the points you raised but pray don't make sweeping (and erroneous) assumptions about those you know not. I've never driven under the influence, period.

etta sandwich: Read over the scripts for Braveheart (the most anti-English and laughably inaccurate historical portrayal ever made) and The Patriot (makes the redcoats behave worse than nazis, replete with grotesque "events" which never occurred).

MenifeeManiac: You had me until your 5th paragraph. Perhaps you were speaking for yourself but you were certainly not speaking for me or anyone I'm close to. I am neither anti-Semitic nor do I associate with anyone who is, period. Please don't assume or tar others with the same brush reserved for bigots. Many who have reacted with outrage to Gibson's hateful anti-Semitic views are sincere, not closeted kindreds.

amber_tree: Nice rant. Completely off-target but a nice rant nonetheless. How is it you determine my political views based upon my contempt for the bigoted Gibson? You might be interested to know that it is the conservatives in this country who most consistently support the state of Israel (something my liberal friends remind me of regularly these days). "I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you didn't even know about this."

hpotter4ever2000: I have a life, thank you, and I am decidedly NOT "worrying" about your nazi hero, Gibson. Anti-Semitism is not a "mistake."

Kitty: Too funny. Yes, it is indeed "classy" for a married "family man" to get drunk off his ****, cavort with strange women at a bar, drive at dangerously high speeds while legally intoxicated, resist arrest, spew hateful anti-Semitic rubbish, attempt to urinate and defecate in a holding cell and otherwise behave all ways Gibson. Nice.

Oh wait, there's more? But of course, your nazi hero, Gibson, is "richer" than I am, which doubtless makes him a better person, right? Surely personal wealth is the standard when assessing a person's character? I'd love to think your answer was intended as satire but I fear you actually mean what you say. Highly disturbing, that.

As to the matter of Gibson's "disappearance," no, I don't imagine the hateful lowlife will disappear, alas. This is a culture decidedly tolerant of anti-Semitism, as your own response suggests. Somehow I feel sure you agree with his deranged views of the Jewish people. Well, at the very least he is tarnished, as are you.

Anti-semitism is one of the few prejudices not vehemently objected to.

People are called "Jews," or they are refered to being "Jew-ish." Why not "Israelite," "Hebrew" or "Chosen Ones?" I have never heard the phrase, "Mexicanish," or "Blackish."

Jew refers to the decendants of Jacob's (Israel) son, Judah, and tribe of Israel that stayed in the Southern Middle East region. The other ten tribes moved to the north; eventually dispersed to other regions.

I shall cut-short my soap box speech, but there are many people who are brought up Anti-Semitic, and you never find out until they get buzzed, and their tongue loosens.

Thus, I am not shocked at Mr. Gibson's remarks. I am just shocked at the reaction of everyone out there ready to crucify the man, when they probably have little prejudices they still harbor, but will not admit, themselves.

I guess Mel Gibson, like every other human being has done in their lives, decided to choose sin for his life that day. See how ugly sin can be in your life? See how many people jump on a story of a Christian man who will stumble and give in to his sinful nature? Not a pretty sight is it? I wonder how livid everyone would be over this incident if this person was, say, Snoop-Doggy-Dog? But Christians are far more fun to mock and hit when they're in a sinful state, right? The only difference between Mel Gibson, a Christian, and some person who denies Christ, is that Mel Gibson can repent of this sin, ask for forgiveness and be healed of it. The Non-believer will have to pay the full consequences of eternal death for his sins. I will pray that Mel will get back on the road he knows he must walk, and that his repentance and forgiveness have already been accomplished. "It is finished."

Calling him a Nazi? Wow, that's extreme. I suppose this is your opportune time to rag on one of the few Hollywood conservatives because he isn't perfect. Congratulations.

Is he any worse than any of the low-life, no-talent, over-paid, pompous Hollywood liberals who want all of us hard-working middle class people to pay for everyone else's health care and every other frickin' program....INCLUDING the Actor's Equity Association, which by the way, is Federally funded. Yes, that's right. WE PAY for their retirement and benefits, so they can have pretty white teeth and stay perfectly thin year-round. All of the pretentious piss ants, who make more money in a week (than I would in any given year) get to benefit from our hard work.

It's not just Mel, sweetie. It's the whole lot of 'em.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you didn't even know about this.

People idol worship celebrities and will believe their PR rather than their actions. He is talented and I don't really care that he got a DUI (lie to me and tell me you've never driven after having a drink), but why don't we worship teachers or firemen? It is amazing that a news group just did a poll and 52% said they thought he wasn't anti-semetic. Quote; "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world". But I believe he's not anti-semetic. Yeah, OK.

And Ke Su, we know you have an opinion and please share it but c'mon, don't take 25 lines for one sentence!

Gosh I totally disagree... he's just a guy who has made some mistakes in his personal life. But I think he's a very talented actor and a good director. I hope that he makes a recovery and that people give him a chance to come back into the movie industry. Must be tough to be judged so harshly, yikes!
