I always really appreciated the love notes that my high school sweetheart used to write for me. I still have them all saved in a box, as a matter of fact. Write something genuine and romantic... the way she makes you feel when she's around. What you think is special or beautiful about her. How you feel like the luckiest guy on earth that she chose you to be in a relationship with because you realize what a remarkable woman she is. (Girls LOVE this kind of stuff)

If you can afford it... jewelry is always nice. Just tell the women behind the counter what your budget is and ask them what they would like to get for an anniversary from their guys. OR if she is into the pampering stuff... a gift certificate for a one hour massage at a spa would be lovely.

Whatever you decide to do make sure to include a thoughtful, hand-written love note (or card) with a sentimental but GENUINE message about how special and beautiful you think she is... and WHY you feel that way about her. I promise she'll cherish that and remember those words always. Anything in addition to that is a bonus.

Good luck. It's sweet that you're taking the time to think of how to make your anniversary a memorable one for her.

Send her some flowers,a romantic card and a cute teddy bear
Then take her out for a nice dinner or dancing whatever she likes most.
You could also buy her something that she has been eyeing or planning to buy or is saving up for (u wud know that if u have gone shopping with her :-) ) and give it to her at the end of the day

Well the first guy was going the right direction then he just totally made a left turn instead of going straight. We like spontanious so showing up with roses would be nice especially for an anniversary. Then when she gets out take her to a nice restaurant.

Roses and chocolates and sex are always nice and thoughtful, but never too creative or unique! Sooo...I suggest making her some sort of art work. Perhaps you can find a nice picture of you two together and get it framed, or frame it yourself! Or, draw or paint her something nice, and frame it! Sculpt something! Anything artsy like that! Make her a necklace or some earrings! Or a bracelet! Whatever you do, make it unique and artistic! For presents nowadays, I usually take a photo of something I know the other person would like, and I manipulate it in interesting ways on my PC, then print it out on glossy photo paper, and frame and mat it myself! It always gets a great reaction out of the receiver! Just do something that expresses you and your artistic abilities...women love art stuff. lol HEY! Write her a sweet poem! Or a nice letter! Or make her a CD of yourself singing or reading poetry (your own or someone else's you know that she likes)! I LOVE those kinds of gifts! So practical and unique!

What's appropriate really depends on your age, length of relationship, kind of relationship you have, and several other factors.

However, a nice card, flower, an invitation to a dinner, homemade or otherwise, is very standard and almost always appreciated.

It's really not how much you spend on your effort. Don't go overboard.... just be yourself. If you have been with someone for a year (or longer), you should have pretty good idea of her likes and dislikes.

Dont buy, or get her anything. Its not about material things. Do you remember your first kiss with her? Or your first date for that matter? Be creative and sensative. Try to avoid anything that has a "done up" vibe. Im talking about taking a walk with this girl, giving her a passionate kiss, and tell her how much you appreciate the time youve spent together. Its really that simple, wouldnt you want that instead of a bottle of cologne???

Well, that all depends on how much money you want to spend, I mean buying her a brand new car for example would be something cool, as would be booking a nice vacation or weekend away.
However if you have a limited budget, get her a nice display of flowers delivered to her workplace, Ladies love that, especially if she works in an office where she can put them on display.

Take her out to dinner doesnt have to be restuarant, spoil her show her how much she means to you, and how much you appreciate what she does for you. How about getting a nice portrait of the 2 of you together, or take her to the place you met and renew the scene. I'm sure she will appreciate any effort you put in to your day, shewill be happy to just be with you and for you to remember. Have a lovely time together.,

Here's what to do... First of all buy her something nice... Something that doesn’t necessarily have to impress her... But here's the cool part...
In addition to what you bought her...
Make a letter... Its very simple...
Paper folded in half with a small mirror glued inside... If you want you can color the letter to make it look nice... Now on the cover... Write: Inside is The love of my life"... So when she opens it she'll find herself... Its simple, creative, and cute... She'll give you a long "Awwww" And a "How cute" And then she'll plant on ya! Make sure YOU make the card though...

Hey! It worked for me once...
