is it valid to have faith I can jump off a tall building unaided and not be harmed?

Is it valid to have faith I will win the lottery next week and go ahead and quit my job?

If I have faith god doesn't exist, is that any less valid than having faith he does? Why then do theists keep demanding I provide 100% undeniable proof god doesn't exist?

excellent question. In my opinion, blind faith is simply irresponsible, and damaging to the person. There is a proper faith which is based on evidence however. For example, if you have a friend who has always come through for you, then when you need the friend, it is sensible to have faith in the friend again. You do not have absolute proof, but based on his past record, you are justified in having faith in him again. In my opinion, that is the ONLY kind of faith which is proper. Atheists have faith in many things this way, and Theists also have faith in many things in this way. Where Theists go wrong is in preaching blind faith, in my opinion.

Your question shows the same lack of 'subtlety of thought' that most Christians display. While is is perfectly acceptable in ordinary conversation to say things like "I have faith that the sun will come up tomorrow", or "I have faith that this chair isn't going to break when I sit in it", it is also necessary to recognize that these are different 'qualities' of faith than that which establishes an internalized 'belief'... a certainty of the 'truth' of ideas pertaining to the nature of existence and reality, such as "I believe that God created the universe and life."

You need to work on critical thinking skills, rather than just coming up with lame arguments to antagonize Christians.

Your first two examples in your strawman are irrational examples that nobody in their right mind would do. Nowhere is it written that this has been promised by the almighty. On the other hand, the Bible, Qur'an, and Torah all have a lot of common information that would cause one to reflect and at least consider the possibilities, don't you agree? By the way, I would never demand anything of you - it is your own decision. Perhaps you will eventually change your mind at a later juncture in your life?

Man you can believe how you wana believe. I'm not what you call a person of faith but there is soooo much we don't know about the Universe you can't just discount it. But if there is a God, he don't help stupidity like jumping off a roof and such.

Because they can't provide 100% undeniable proof that god exists

I don't need 100% undeniable proof, you just can't even give 55% proof, so far, all that I have ever heard of is explainable easily.

You can't prove a negative.

Besides, it's the theists that have the burden of proof. And until they provide it, god simply doesn't exist.

Oh wait.. they have the banana and the argument that "you can't see air but you know it's there". Nevermind.

:-D

because they're not very good at what they do. They don't have 100% undeniable proof to convince you. I'm a Christian and I admit that. Ask them to present you with undeniable proof that you will buy.

Why can't you just accept that some people do believe, and have faith? Why do you have to bring them down with you? If that's what they believe then so be it! Nobody's telling you that what you believe is wrong....so what gives you the right to do that to others? If beleiving is what makes them happy, then let em'! As long as they're not hurting you!

You do not start to even understand how lost you are.
You and your proof.
I can see that you do not have faith. What else you have to say. You sound like a broken record.
