im 16 and i have the most messed up sleeping habbits. All summer i go to bed at like 3 or later and i sleep till like 1, but i've been known to sleep till 4 or later though. i've slept for more than 14 hours straight before, and more than once. during the school year i still go to bed at like 1 or later and wake up at 6. I can last easily on 2 hours of sleep or less, and can play sports no problem without feeling the slightest bit tired. On the weekends i pretty much sleep the whole weekend, i guess im makin up for the week. Even when i go to bed at like 7 at night i cant wake up before noon, unless i use an alarm. I'm very active and play tons of sports and i dont think my diet is bad. Is there anything i can do to make myself start waking up early, or at least before noon, without using an alarm, and dont say go to bed early, cause it doesnt work

i have the same problems because i'm a night owl. and i don't even take naps. start by developing good sleeping habits . Consistently go to bed the same time every night and wake up the same time. even if you have to do this a few times w/ the alarm clock just to develop a sleep pattern. before going to bed, avoid drinking caffeine coffee and sodas and the like. keep a clear mind. try reading to put you to sleep or listening to soft music or even watching TV esp if it's a boring show. take a warm relaxing bath, have sex. develop that inner body clock w/c will dictate to you when to wake up. going to bed at 7p won't help as it's too early. on weekends, force yourself to get out of bed. find a job. develop a hobby.

By the way, according to most health professionals you can't really "make up" sleep so son't use that as an excuse to sleep longer on weekends. At your age, you need to be on a regular sleep schedule. Go to bed at approximately the same time each day and wake up at the same time. If you do this with an alarm for a while, you'll eventually be on schedule. Your body needs between 8-10 hours of sleep every night in order to function properly. If you are good at sports now, imagine what you could do if you got a good night's sleep EVERY night!

I have the same problem as you. I stay up late and then wake up around 2 or 3. First think whats causing the problem. It can be stress, heat, caffiene, or plenty others. If your still having trouble sleeping, have someone give you a nice massage or take a hot bath or shower for about 90 minutes. Or you can try some sleep meds. Trust me, there are a lot of people with the same problem. But I hope you start sleeping and get a good nights rest. Good Luck !

the only way to get back on track is to pick a bedtime, like 11pm, and go to bed at 11pm everynight, and use an alarm, at first, to wake up around 6am. do this every night of the week and stick to it. you are abusing your body. you're setting yourself up for a lifetime of sleep problems if you don't correct it now. you may want to get a physical to make sure you don't have a chronic disease such as diabetes since it can cause fatigue and unusual tiredness. when you're body gets used to a routine, it will fall asleep and awake without an alarm. good luck.

The synthetic gentle from the pc display (or even your telephone) can cut back melatonin (the sleep hormone) creation for your frame. Try taking a melatonin suppliment. I take 1mg melatonin on nights that I are not able to sleep and it really works like a allure! The best downfall to taking melatonin is if you are taking it each and every night time your frame gets used to it and you're going to must expand how so much you are taking. I attempt to best take it sometimes. I additionally love sizzling tea containing camomile to aid me chill out. Sleepy Time Tea with honey is extraordinary. :)
