Americans are watching their prestige and credibility in the world fade into oblivion. I am in America now, and I tell you, there is a feeling of desperation in the air. Americans aren't, on the whole cowards; they won't run and hide. But, as a group, they seem to have lost their sense of proportion, and, therefore, their sense of humour. Especially the Conservative Christians. Americans aren't really mad at you, they're just mad, in general.

I'm an american. Even if I take what people say seriously i don't get mad at them. Either what you say is intelligent and interesting,
or stupid and entertaining. The sad thing is, America has a growing breed of fundementalist christians in it, who take EVERYTHING seriously.
Also, when we're blowing up innocent iraqi children, we cease to be as funny. (But i'm sure you Brits understand that too, eh?)

They have many obsessions and prejudices in mind due to faulty educational system and social upbringing. Very few grow beyond a materialist and a mere surviving being.
