Yes...Unless she started smoking. They don't make "THe Patch" for dogs.

I don't think it's kennel cough. If it were kennel cough, it would be all the time.
First of all, many pugs cough after exertion. That being said, if it has been going on for more than a week or so, you may want to have her checked out for a heart or lung condition. Also, coughing after exercise, eating, or drinking are also one of the first signs of heartworm, which can be fatal if left untreated. I would definitely bring her to a vet.

Pugs are prone to respiratory problems. Comes with the breed. Still, the coughing may be due to a medical problem. Has your dog been tested for heartworms? Do you give a heartworm treatment once a month? If not, have that done. Heartworm infections can migrate to the lungs and cause coughing. Other problems may be a heart condition, respiratory infection. The vet will be able to diagnosis what it is and treat it.

Some breeds of dgs do have a cough like sound they make and it is actually called snorkeling and it is like a respitory thing these breeds include boston terriers and pugs and bull dogs and even occassionally boxers.
A vet told me gently lift the dogs hind quarters above his head but so his front feet are on the ground and then gentley massage his chest area until he settles down, they can cough because they drink to fast, get too excited or just because. And the above technique does work

We have a pug that coughs sometimes. It is usally just a normal thing that they do. We have a male pug named Harley and my grandma has one named Sparky. Sparky coughs a lot. But mostly it ain't that much to worry about.

If she is coughing quite often it's not normal. She may have an upper respritory infection. You should take her to the vet.
