science lesson. The highest amount of water in the kernel is in the lightest part in the tip of the kernel. when microwaved the water is "excited" until it explodes the kernel. if it has been nuked once it will have evaporated enough of the water to make in impossible to pop the kernel.

It is the moisture inside a kernel that causes it to explode into popcorn.Obviously †he kernel has no more moisture inside it.

It can be popped, all you have to do is add a little oil.(ive done this before)
