you can play some classical music, or soft baby music. anything is fine really. although i wouldnt recommend heavy metal rock! lol! if you are having a girl and you want to play some pop music, try the spice girls! they are really great! i played that for my daughter while she was still in the womb and she really loves pop music now! if you are having a boy, you shoud play some soul or r&b.

Starting in the 2nd trimester you can use regular headphones and turn it up pretty loud or the baby won't be able to hear it. Classical is great. We played that for our son and along with all different types of music (except Rap), and our son will be 2 next week and he LOVES music and he is getting a drum set for his b-day because he loves druming on empty boxes and does it just like the guys on my hubby's concert DVDs.

I heard that classical is the best because it hepls the child learn how to concentrate and be very peaceful. I wis my parents played classical music for me when I was a baby because half the time I don't even know what I'm talking about!

Yeah I think you should, I did with my first child and he is really smart. My second child I didn't play much music for him and not saying he isn't smart but my first son was alot more advance.

they have special cd players that have special earphone things that you can put on your belly for the baby to hear...don't know exactly where to find them...maybe target or babies r us?
once my baby was born, i played (and still play) classical/instrumental music...it helps to develop her brain much better...
