How much time does NYS have to indict someone for a felony drug charge?

I need to know how much time the state of new york has, from the time the offense was comitted to have the defendant appear in court and/ or indicted. I'd be grateful for any answers.

It depends on the statute of limitations, probably 5-7 years.

The normal statute of limitations is seven years.
