The word Christian to me means that this individual has made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and saviour.

From that moment on -- it is a journey of growth for the rest of that person's time on earth.

Christians are Christ-like but they are not without sin. No one is without sin, except Christ. Christians are forgiven for their sin.

Christians get knocked alot -- for good reasons unfortunately. But they are being mocked and taken to task. The Bible tells us that is going to happen.

God is still in control -- and it will be good.

I kinda know what you are asking because I think the word "Christian" has taken an unfortunate meaning in the last 20 years. Some of it is due to very public zealots and con-men that called themselves Christian ministers. [For every evil one there are dozens of good ones, tho]

Are most Christians Christ-like? They want to be, but are not. We seek to do wrong by our nature. These days, it is trendy to take others with us.

Chistians are not cool; they are nerds, they are honest instead of deceitful, they are quiet and respectful when loud and disrespectful for anything is cool. They speak well of others instead of gossip, which is fun. The practice chastity when we all want to screw everyone we can. They lay a guilt trip on all of us when we want to be free from responsibility. Why do alll this when we can live free from responsibility, as we want to?

Look around...the jails are full, girls are pregnant with children that have no father to help support and raise them. We have more respect for borderline criminals than we do for good honest people. Our movies without sex and violence do not sell, but a movie about Christ is persecuted as some kind of brain washing...

Yeah, I am a Christian...not a good one, but proud of it. I would have NO problem being more Christlike.

I try not to think like this, but most of the time when I hear the word Christian, I think hypocrite, close minded and judge mental. I know not all Christians are like that and other religions have there fair share of "holier than thou" people too. I guess this comes from a history of Christians preaching to me one thing, but doing the same thing themselves and making excuses for it. Sorry to anybody out there, I mean no offense.

Etymologically, the followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ are called Christians; but in reality anybody born to a Christian parent is a christian who remains a Christian unless changes over to some other religion. Whether he actually follows the teachings given in the Bible is immaterial. Accordingly, there are very few true Christians left in this world.

I get annoyed when I hear the word "Christian" and remember all those times I had pointless arguements with my friends and they got so angry at me because I don't practice Christianity. Nobody can be Christ-like because there was only one, so yeah... but in the sense that you put it in, NO, I don't know very many if any at all. They all cuss sometimes and some of them are racist and anti-semetic.

When I hear the word Christian, I think of someone who loves God and isn't afraid to say it. Many of the mature Christians I know are. Many new Christians, of course, don't look act Christ like just yet, but they are being worked on.
But every Christian is being worked on.

My first thought is usually "oh sh**, I'm not a christian-- so I better run for my life" and then I remember that the Inquisition officially ended in 1834.

Since I am not Muslim, I guess I can temporarily breath a sigh of relief since it currently is only cool for christians to murder Arab non-believers (let me hear a hip-hip-hooray for our modern day Crusade in the holy land! <-- disgusted sarcasm).

Christianity as an organized religion has so little to do with Christ's message of love, tolerance, peace that I think it is utterly blasphemous for christians to use his name. Why don't you all start calling yourselves "Constantinians" for the Roman Emperor Constantine -- the first actual Pope, and the first one to embrace christianity and turn it into an organization. Not surprisingly, he made his "conversion" on the battle field in the midst of killing and conquering weak innocent people who dared to live outside of Roman rule -- a tradition that 'christianity' has carried on to the present day.

I think he (Christ) would honestly roll over in his grave if a) he knew all of the evil that is done in his name and b) if he actually was a real historical character who even has a grave to roll over in.

Hating others who are not like "you" and no, some of the Christians I know are the biggest hypocrites around. One woman goes on and on about how she and her perfect family goes to church 3-4 times a week, how much they tithe, the volunteer work they do and how she and her kids will be sitting at the feets of Jesus when Armageddon arrives and the rest of us will be in trouble. The woman "volunteers" but usually just stands around and complains about everybody else and my cousin, who goes to school with two of her kids, says the boy is a druggie and the girl has the reputation of being the biggest slut in school.

I don't exactly think that's being "Christian."

Then again, I'm not exactly perfect either.
