The Israelites were chosen to be a witness to the world that Yahweh was the Savior, See Isa 43:10-11.

Of course, the Jews were a race specifically chosen of God, and he made a covenent with them and through them the oracles of God were delivered into the world., But since Jesus, because of the 'New" Convenent, God no longer favors one race; but as the New Testament says, In Christ "there is no Jew, nor Greek, bond or free, but in Christ all are made one..."

Jews say they are the chosen people. A god Moses invented was said to choose them. We have only their word for it. Of course any god you choose will choose you. What loony logic! They have had a rough time and still do. I think I'd be choosing another deity if the one who chose me made me a slave of Egyptians, Babylonians, Assyrians, Persians, Macedonians and Romans. israel was the chosen people, not the jew. jew stems from the tribe of judah, one of the twlve tribes of israel. to say only the jew was chosen is to lay claim to all rather than a part of the promise. but fear not, the promise will be kept, but not as so many would like to believe. it will come when it is time, and not before and not as expected, but as meant to be.
