I'm noticing that there are few books about pregnancy for teens outside of a school library. I'm thinking of books like "Help, I'm Gonna Be A Father!" or "Help, I'm Gonna Be A Mother!" that has information and helpful tips without what many books have of "Your husband should be..." or "what to do for your wife..." Do you think there are teens out there who would be interested in this? I've seen a few questions now that ask about good books for the "I've gotten myself into this, now what do I do" pregnancy situations. I'm even thinking of a book of "I'm Pregnant, Now What Do I Do?" that highlights different options and ways of telling parents. Though that one is likely to end up in a library rather than a book store, I think.

If you are going to write a book like this you need to consult with a dietitian because the recommended requirements of certain nutrients for teens are different than fora grown woman. A grown woman needs 2,000mg of calcium a day, but since a teen is still growing themselves they need even more calcium.

I think it's an excellent idea. A better idea would be for kids to get proper sex ed on how to prevent pregnancy, and politicians not trying to take away resources for the reproductive health of women, but *sigh*....

I would imagine pregnant teens would be very interested in such a resource. With the disposable incomes that teenagers seem to have nowadays, I would imagine some would buy it.

Bless your heart for interest in writing such a book. Good luck compiling all the information.

Teens are inquisitive, I think there are a lot of teens out there that would read it. Even though they may tell their friends that they know everything they have many questions. If you do write a book be sure and add all of the little things that seem like common sense. Sometimes it is the common sense that we all need to hear. Good luck.

That sounds like a great idea, take it from someone in that situation. I know I could use a good book like that right now to help with the mess me and my girlfriend are in. I know that myself and other teens would greatly appreciate informative, helpful, and non-judgemental answers to the questions that we are dealing with.

i think you're right on the money...there's many books out there as to how to deal with having a baby...but they don't really speak of the whole emotional part of it...
if you wrote a book on what to do when you find out you're going to be a parent and do research on what teens are most worried about (go out with surveys)and then give those answers in that book, you'll not only succeed, but help so many...
