You either strained too hard and ripped some skin or you have a hemorrhoid. That is an enlarged blood vessel that can rupture. If it is bright red blood, you are probably ok, if it is brown or looks like coffee grounds, you need to see the doctor. It isn't a bad idea to tell the doctor anyway. Make sure you are getting sufficient fiber in your diet and drinking enough water.

It is probably nothing, particularly if you are a man. Sometimes men tend to force their bowel movements. Also, if you are not eating enough fiber, your stool could be dry and hard, causing damage to the colon or anus walls. That could cause bleeding, particulary if you force it. It is common for men, particularly middle-aged, to bleed a little. Do not be alarmed unless the bleeding is severe. Try eating food that will help your digestion and elimination. Whole grains, more vegetables, cereals, etc. Drink plenty of water each day. If you are uncertain, then see your doctor.

was it a doozy of a dump??? if so then it probably tore some tissues down there and that's where the blood might have come from. your 80 grit toilet paper mightbe the problem as well. pony up the douhg and get some charmin or angel soft. true it's only paper meant to wipe your a*ss but in the end (no pun intended) you'll be better off.

If you strained to get it out of there, you could have caused a small fissure in your anus. Small amounts of blood on the toilet paper is nothing to be alarmed about. Take a laxative, and that should go away.
If your stool is dark and tarry, though (looks black), you may need a hemoccult stool sample taken to make sure that it's not intestinal blood, which is common in inflammatory bowel disease, infected polyps, diverticulitis, and colon cancer (if you're under fifty, colon cancer is unlikely).
If it's just blood with no straining, it's probably a hemorrhoid.
If there's no mucus and no dark stools, it's probably nothing to worry about, no matter how alarming blood on the toilet paper may be.

It is most likely a small tear usually occurring because of a larger and harder than normal stool.
If the blood was bright red there is very little to fear as to anything serious and is probably a fissure or a hemorrhoid,
a stool softener will help and drink more liquids.

It's not the toilet paper dear... Your poop was too big and you may have been constipated. You should eat more vegetables or find time to just sit on the toilet and read a magazine even if you don't have to poop at that time, it might sneak up on you if you relax.
Talk to your parents if it happens again, go to the doctor and get some metamucile.. fo real.

Could this question have anything to do with your previous fixation on the back-end? You need to get a life.
Also, you might be having a problem with Hemroids...which can really hurt! So it is the remedy.
My parents used to tell me if you had to go #2, just sit and relax...read a book. If you push too hard or force yourself to get the job done too quickly, you can pull a muscle...or get hemroids.
Sorry, bout that.

If it's bright red, it's probably a tear in your anus. Did you have to strain, because that could be it. Do you have hemroids, because those can bleed too if your anus is stretched to far. Apply some toilet paper to the anal region and put pressure on you anus. You might want to see a doctor if it keeps happening.

It could be a hemorrhoid or a little tear called an anal fissure. If it doesn't clear up you should call your doctor. You may want to increase both fiber and water in your diet to keep yourself regular and the stool soft.
