I'm not sure what to do. I got my internet taken away from me last April, and I've been sneaking on every now and then. Now, my mother lets me on without a question, but my dad is still trying to control things. What can I do to keep the internet which I enjoy and still keep the status quo with dad?

Not much you can do about it. It might have been a bogus reason to you, but I'm sure it was not to him. Teenagers see things differently than adults, why? Cause adults were once teenagers also. They may know where a problem is leading and try to do what they think is best to stop it before it causes you harm. A parents job is to raise their children to be responsible adults for when they are no longer around. Parents do not teach you things like a teacher at school does. They teach you things differently and hopefully you learn from them and your mistakes in life. Anytime I made mistakes, my mother would be upset and tell what I have done and why it was wrong. She never yelled at me, but she was firm. I never got mad at her once for doing that cause I understood she was doing it so I would learn from my mistakes and it was her way of teaching me needed things that I needed to know in life. She was my teacher, friend and most of all the best mother that I could have. I miss her so much and will never forget what she taught me in life.

Depends why they took it away. If it's distracting you from schoolwork and the rest of your life, then they need to put restrictions on it. If you were revealing personal information on the internet to anyone, then they need to put a stop to it. If you were contacting someone on the internet that could be unhealthy for you, possibly a pedefile, then yes, they need to stop it.

If that means taking your internet away, then they are being good parents. Whether you like it or not.

Depends on why they took it away. I'm with the others who think that you were probably abusing it, either going online when you had better things to do (like homework), or had revealed personal information online that could quite potentially endanger you. Your dad is right in that case to enforce the loss of the privilege, and your mom is a blooming idiot, because you know that she won't enforce any discipline that she hands down to you. I'm rooting for your dad on this one, and hope he sets your mom straight as well.

I'm sure it was for a good reason. And no I wouldn't fight to get it back, the more you fight the longer it would be to get it back. You could spend your extra time helping out around the house, yard, school work, and with the family. If you showed that you could be a responsible person you would get it back faster. If I caught you using it when you wasn't suppose to, it would cost you even more time.

Why did you parents take it away, what was their reasoning?
Just go online when your dad is not home. Or have the computer put in the living room/ family room and tell him you want to use it but you agree to only go on at home when he is home. And if he still says no, then just use it at school, your friend's house, and when your dad isnt home.

Sympathy misplaced while the phrase retard was once used. Learn to be great after which might be you could be extra widespread. My reply could be to do something paintings your meant to or in case your long term plans contain song or the web give an explanation for and turn out in your mom and dad that they're rewarding to you.
