Two people have already posted this answer to you which is wrong....they said that if the baby is born in the USA the mother and baby are both considered US citizens............WRONG!!!!!
Only the child is considered a US citizen, the mother is not. The mother would have to become a naturalized citizen through the proper immigration channels if she is in the USA legally. Again, only the child will be considered a US citizen. Unfortunately, the US will not deport the mother just because she is illegal and the child is now a legal citizen.....this is called an "anchor baby" and is how all illegal aliens stay in the US.

If you are a u.s. citizen then you need to get your wife to be a citizen too. So you all can be citizens... Good luck.

If she is here and illegal, she can have the baby here but will have to leave it with you when she is deported (and, sad to say, she will be if she goes to any docs or to a hospital to have the baby and they get her personal info)...............
