Islam is built on false teaching which rejects the divinity of Christ, it rejects what Jesus clearly said about his divinity , and it even rejects Jesus's death on the Cross and his ressurrection.
Muhammed came along 600 years after Christ and rejected what Christ stood for...therefore there was nothing he could do but try to provide another way to get of salvation.
the name 'Allah' is not even mentioned in the Bible.

In Islam all prophets are respectable.
Mohammed ( pbuh)is the last prophet, who had got the revelation and the last Word of God.
I think thats the reason. But if you read Quran you will find out that all previous prophets are mentioned there with no less attention than Mohammed ( pbuh).

tell me which verse in the Quran that says this. in Islam all prophet of God are equal in the eye of God. and Muhammad happend to be the sealed of all prophets. the ring of prophecy has been closed. and Yes God told us in the Quran to follow the path of Abraham.

I hope most of Muslims brothers and sisters' answers clarified your question. Except there non-muslims and some Christians are so illiterate, ignorant and dumb. I want to make a correction here, Muhammed was not THE greatest prophet of God. To God, ALL of his prophets are eaqually loved. He was the last prophet sent to us.
