I just looked this up for you. According to the Qur'an, it is considered an act of impurity and is therefore forbidden for men and women. Chastity apparently extends to self-pleasure, and is considered a temptation to be avoided. Type in "masturbation Islam" in your search bar, and the reasons are listed in detail. That's what I did.
Glad I'm not Islamic.

Its probably fine. Islam is not much for morality. From what I understand, there is not such thing as sin in Islam.
A muslim woman I exchanged a few emails with said God does not require payment for sin nor for you to be annointed with oil or clothed in white garments, so what does it matter?
