I live in a really small town in MO. The school in my town isnt that great meaning not that many oppurtunities and half the good teachers this year quit because of low wages and we have new teachers that really arnt expirienced. My sisters go to the University of Missouri and tonight, we talked about my future. I want to go to Washington University in St. Louis. They require a perfect GPA, mines 10.89 on a 11 scale and they expect a 32 ACT score. I am going to be in 10th grade. I realized it is impossible to get in by the way my school is. I have a desision to make, to leave my parents and comfort of home to go to a better school in columbia and come home every weekend or stay at my current school. I really have no good friends at my current school, I just like this guy. What should I do? What would you do? Oh, yeah, another ?about the guy, should I stay for the guy, i mean we arnt really seeing each other, we just like each other, will i find aother guy? Plz help this is my future!!

I've always believed that it's not the school that is important but it's what's inside your mind, heart, spirit, body and soul.

If you are comfortable in your town and you get along fine with your parents, I'd say -stay right where you are and don't leave your family and town just to go to a better school .

The most creative and successful people in this world didn't get that way from the school that they went to . They got successful because they had creativity, and determination and the will to be successful .

You can hone your success skills right in your home town. Yes, I do realize that moving out is sounding exciting to you but you still have your rest of your life to do that.

Please remember, that even those colleges have their certain tasks or priorities and their ways of doing things, that attending those or any particular colleges doesn't guarantee you a good life.

When we get wrapped up in prestige and in making impressions on people then we lose ourselves and we lose our self-confidence .
Anyone can fit into the mold and anyone can do what everyone else is doing.

So let everyone else follow the leader and go to those schools just to make a good impression.

Remember the most creative people were rejected left and right and inside out and upside down, but their determination to win a t life made them most successful.

Look up the lives of Walt Disney, Helen Keller, Winston Churchill , and many others. .and you'll see these were the underdogs. These were the ones who were not supposed to succeed, yet they did.

And then look up the lives of all the dead rock stars, who made it rich, and played with big money and had everything that anyone would have ever wanted, yet they died at young ages because they did not know what the proper priorities were.

Here's reasons to leave to go far away to another school:

1. Your home town is very dangerous and you most likely will be hurt or killed if you stay there for school .

2. YOu are not getting along with any of your family and everyone is bitter towards you and you are bitter towards them and there is deep-seated anger and serious problems every single day. (in this case, it's not running away but it's taking a turn at something different with the hopes that this new opportunity will brighten your life a little.

3. You have a wonderful scholarship opportunity and you are having all expenses paid for.

4. Your school does not have and doesn't teach a particular program that you need in your life. (for example, perhaps the school that is far away has a program in Oceanography but your regular close-by school does not) This is a reason for traveling far away to go to school .

There are many reasons to stay and many to go. I believe that there are much more reasons to stay.

You are in the middle of a normal happy life. School will be tough and there'll be good days and bad days. And it will be so wonderful for you to be around your family during the tough days and then when the good days come, you'll have them right there too.

Stay if you can. It probably will be the best decision you'll make.

You will ALWAYS have opportunities to move. You'll get these opps all your life, trust that.

So, stay, if you can .

And have a very peaceful day.

Go to the other school and go to Washington Univ. its a great school, and you won't get another oppurtunity like this again. Forget the guy, you can see him on the weekends, and plus there might be hotter guys at the other school....You will regret it, if you don't! And don't worry about grades, just work hard, and do some extra activities, community service, sports, etc., it will all work out...

Where I'm from public schooling isn't very well so in the event you wish a well schooling you have got to attend to a individual one. But this rather relies, a few public colleges are very well and a few are very unhealthy, simply as a few individual colleges are very well and others very unhealthy.

Ok. Well they don't require a perfect GPA. NO school does, not even Harvard. Still apply there...apply everywhere you can. Study for the ACT, and do well. That's all you can do. Ditch the guy, get a good education...you'll find another, I promise.

Concentrate on yourself first. In the long run, you really won't regret it.. Make the most of the time you have when you're home for the weekends.. but your education has got to come first..
And as for the fellow.. there's more than enough time for that, later. As you said, you and he are just... I don't know what .
Education first.. guys can come later..
