i have in 1989 i had polycystic kidneys (have a bubble like cyst on the kidney] and had to have a transplant i was only 18 mo old and very sick. my mother gave me her kidney, we were a 100% match, which is very rare, i had the transplant in University of Minnesota Transplant Center. i was transplant patient # 2999 for a live organ donor i am 18 now and living a healthy life and a fun life as well! have kidney for 17 yrs!

Yes, I just hit the 1 year mark in June. I have a history of reflux nephropathy. My sister gave me her kidney. I was transplanted at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Glad to here you have a healthy and fun life. I'm having a bit of trouble still adjusting to not spending sooo much time in the hospital with dialysis. I just can't hide behind my illness anymore. Just have to live life now.
