your cat will be fine, he sounds like a cat to me, all cats chase and kill little creatures be glad he eats them and doesn't bring them to you half alive to show you what he got and then when you go to look at it the damn thing springs to life and runs across the kitchen.(true story) Point is Cats have a natural instinct to hunt in fact domestic cats kill more species of animals then any other living predator and that's just killing them. Most cats have full tummies when they go hunting. It's just the fun of the chase that gets them in killer mode.

I'm sorry to hear your little guy is so sick. My youngest cat Dexter was adopted in December and he came to me with the worst URI I have ever experienced. It took two full doses of Clavamox to fully cure him. What I did also was I kept him closed in a small bedroom with a heating pad to sleep on and I ran a vaporizer 24 hours a day. Several times a day I would hold him in the steam (not too close, about 2 feet away), but I held him there to let the steam penetrate his little stuffy nose. Your kitty is not eating because he can't breath through his nose. I also used colloidal silver drops up Dexter's nostrils to help clear the infection. Try wiping his nose with a wet, warm rag to help clear the crusting. Be very diligent and finish all the medications your vet gives you and keep him warm and quiet. If he's not better after one round of antibiotics, don't be afraid to go straight back to the vet for more. Another thing that can help them to get better is to give L-Lysine. You can buy it in gel form and just squeeze it into his mouth. Dexter has grown into a healthy, rowdy boy with no ill effects of his terrible infection when I first got him. Best of luck!

The other answers about cat natural instincts are great, but how big is your Kitten? I would worry more about him choking on something too big to swallow, or getting his belly and/or intestines blocked up with bones, etc. Also make sure he has plenty of drinking water available. And watch his stool to make sure he doesn't get diahrrea. If he does, call your vet. AND keep him on intestinal parasite and flea control.

This sounds like a good cat that you have getting them little critters! My cat is 8 years old, and is so lazy, he wouldnt get a mouse, if it was right in front of him. Lately, I have seen geckos in my house because it has been so dry here in Texas and I cant catch them myself, and my cat could care less! They wont hurt your cat, dont worry, really! Cats are natural born hunters, and they will kill things like that.

your kitten will be A Ok. she/he is just using there natural cat instincs i mean you have to unerstand the come froma long line of big cats that prey on animals and eat them and even play with the dead bodies. your kitty will be fine shoot mine runs around chasing flys and play with there emotions till there dead then eats them . it's ok as long as the kitty is happy and contents and running around it's ok .

just like people, cats have different preferences.
dont worry unless you find that the geckos are poisonous, that's the only time when you should actually bother.

even though we feed our cats, they still hold onto their hunting instincts there is nothing wrong with you cat or kitten eating bugs or small animals..As long as you keep kitties shots up you should have nothing to worry about.

Cats eat bugs often....mine do all the time. I've never seen them eat cockroaches though, I'm sure they would attempt to.
If you are *EVER* (emphasis) in any doubt, please call your vet! Definitely call the vet to check.
