I don't think you'll ever get a satisfactory proof that all of Christianity
is wrong. Its a big topic. There are certainly many people who believe
that Christ existed and did some really pretty terrific stuff but wasn't
"divine" in the technical sense. They may not be Christian in the
classical sense, but they may believe in most of his teachings.

However, there are oodles of places where Christianity is inconsistant
or makes statements that violate the best scientific information available
to date.

Now, Christianity assumes the existence of an omniopotent being so
the fact that things violate the best science isn't too concerning - he's God,
he can do that.

However, that Christianity is inconsistant is harder to deal with because
then you end up saying such philosophical mumbo jumbo as "define
truth". The best I can do is to define what truth is NOT: Truth is not
inconsistant. That is, truth must be consistant with itself, at least.

I could believe that none of the rest of you exist and that you are all
a figment of my imagination. Well, its pretty hard to disprove and it
is entirely consistant within itself - but it isn't a very useful model for
living my life as it gives me no ability to predict what will happen next.

Science gives us the ability to predict. Most religions do not.

If you're looking for places where Christianity is inconsistant with itself,
consider its history of different gospels which, some of which were
excluded during the 3rd century but which we still see pieces of
occasionally. What was the latest? Judas was actually Christ's
best friend and that his was the ultimate non divine sacrafice
to the glory of Christianity?

Wouldn't sit well with the Pope - that's for sure.

There have been all sorts of different bibles, particularly prior to the
Guttenberg printing press - with variations of translations, details
of a story and even the end "moral" of certain stories.

The King James Bible, latest edition, is a newcomer on the scene.
Does this means that all of the people celebrating Christ prior to that
bible were not Christian?

Don't get me wrong - the Bible is a very important book - a very
compelling teaching book, in some ways. It is, however, a book.

The bible's account of the creation of the stars has been proven wrong. If they were created only 6-10 thousand years ago their light would never have hit us yet and they would be invisible to us now. Using geometry and physics it is quite clear how far the stars are away from us, and the real stellar events we see from earth happen in real time, so there is no possibility that the speed of light has changed.

When you look at a star you see events that happened millions or billions of years ago. Those are not "faked events" they really happened. If those stars were created as it says in the bible then it would be millions of years before we would see what we are seeing today.

That's proof by geometry and physics, and observation (seeing with your own eyes) all separately cooberating each other. You can't get more proof than that.

It's not so much that the Bible predicted events that never happened... The return of Jesus could be considered a false prediction, but Christians always have an "out" by claiming that he IS coming, we just don't know when. But it's just that half the stuff in the Bible is totally preposterous, like people living to be 900 years old. So if you agree that human beings have never lived that long, then there's an answer.

God announced very early that His plan for redemption involved the Messiah being brought forth from the tribe of Judah (Gen 49:10) and specifically from the line of David (Ruth 4:22; 2 Samuel 7:11).

This is a problem though, as Mary was not through the line of David- (All though Joseph was). But apparently, Joseph is not Jesus' father... Christians believe in immaculate conception.

I have always thought this to be a fundamental conjecture.

Jesus said he came to answer The !st book-and was sent according to the "Signs" displayed in The Old Testement and because science has proven that dinosaurs and the fossile records were here LONG BEFORE Mankind-Jesus proved himself to not only be a liar but a trouble maker and a nonconformist-You also have too many contridictions for if not why all the separation of churches under this belief? I mean lets take a child and show him all the different beliefs in Name only and have him choose which one we should follow because it is basically Christianity is THE BLIND LEADING THE BLIND!

christianity was a new jewish religious offshoot. none of the current books were written by any of the original 12 apostles. paul wrote individual letters, not books, all the new testament books were translated from greek, not hebrew or aramaic, the language used in palestine. none of the books were written before 65 a.d. and were from verbal, not written stories of what was said and hence would not be word for word accounts but accounts as remembered, which anyone knows changes with each telling. so you tell me, could a book translated, organized and compiled by a group of scholars in the 1600's under king james of england be accurate? or even close? get real!

The flood has been proven to be impossible, creationism, the christian idea of god is impossible. And it proves itself wrong, there are many contradictions in the bible, that show some of it must be wrong
