First you need to set a goal. i.e. My anniversary is in August and I'm going on a cruise so I bought a treadmill back at the end of April and am on there faithfully 30 minutes a day every day. My goal was to be in shape for my cruise, so that motivates me. Secondly, a buddy will help motivate you. If you have a significant other, or a good friend, walking together is a good way to spend time together and catch up on your day. It helps you get in shape and strengthens the relationship. Thirdly, vary your routine. Change the route you take, change the distance you go and change the speed of your walk. Or if you are exercising, change the routine.,, do weights one day and cardio the next, etc. Change ups like that keep it from getting boring.

dont see it as an exercise or a programme. See it as a fun part of your life.
To walk everyday or do light exercises three or four times a week should be a fun part of your life routine, shouldn't it?
Look, go to http://fit-n-fat.blogspot.com and have a read there. It's fun, makes sense and isnt about a quick loss but about your life.
What's the pointin being on a "programme " if you dont enjoy it or see and feel fabulous. You dont need a sweet personnal trainer unless he /she is your partner. You need something you can do forever not a fad as part of your whole life..
