Pressed Garlic

It means you need to put the garlic clove in a garlic press.

In a pinch you can make a garlic paste: chop the garlic very fine, then sprinkle it with salt and mash it with the side of your knife blade. The salt acts as an abrasive to break down the garlic, and you'll get the same results.

It is when you put a clove of garlic through a garlic press and it comes out mashed.

You can do the same thing by mincing the garlic and putting it in a bowl. Add a little salt (not much, Little) and then use the back of a spoon and mash it until pasty.

There is a kitchen tool called a garlic press! you put the cloves of garlic inside and then push the handles together and the pressed or (crushed) garlic comes out the holes in the bottom of it! if you don't have one of these just chop it really small (into what is called a mince) and it will be fine!

Passing your garlic thru your garlic press results in pressed garlic. For a finer texture, you crush the garlic. Most use the side of a chef's knife, pushing the garlic down hard against the cutting board (think "squish"). If you've already passed your garlic thru your press, than you can do the same--in fact it would make it easier to squash it down. However, if the recipe calls for crushed garlic, usual practice is to skip the garlic press, go straight to the "squish"

you just need to buy yourself a garlic press. They have them at target or walmart. or you can take the clove of garlic and smash it down with the flat part of a knife on your cutting board then finely chop the smashed garlic. Have fun!
