i need ideas for the cover when I say wild and retro i mean splashes of color, like funky circles or something

Why not do a dark background and do lots of different basic shapes in bright colors and different sizes--circles, squares, triangles, curved rectangles, you know, just the ones that a computer could do. Have some of them be in outline only, and some of them be filled in. Make sure they overlap, and that some fall off the edge.

In your web browser, type in ART Nouveau - you may get some ideas of retro, it is really retro. There were certain designs and looks that are really beautiful, and will probably last for all time.
I went to the second one on the page, and then to the side bars from there. Just keep bringing up stuff and you can get an idea of real retro. Good luck. Sounds like fun!!
