Use a hot compress on it every few hours. After you do this, towel dry the boil but make sure you pat dry it. Then put some ointment on the boil and cover it with a big gauze. Secure the gauze with tape. Try to use the tape that is specially made for gauze. They sell this stuff right near each other at walmart in the pharmacy department I believe. Every few hours, repeat the same procedure. Make sure that you wash your hands before working with the infected area. Make sure that every now and then you clean the boil with soap and water. Do this lightly or else it will hurt. After a while of placing hot compresses on the boil, the boil will get a white tip then eventually create a hole and it will burst. This is a good thing. You want the boil to burst so you can drain all the pus and blood out. Warning, there will probably be alot of blood when it bursts. Keep cleaning everything off and doing what you are doing. Keep up with the ointment and bandages too. This procedure will probably hurt a little but it works. A boil usually lasts about 2 weeks.

You have to have it drain one way or another or you can get very sick. IT is formed by the staph bacteria and lives on our body. I had 2 at different times and the doctor lances it or has you keep putting hot compresses on it to open it up. It HAS to drain, they may or may not give you antibotics, they didnt for me but I took care of it. I also got sick from the 2nd one. This doesn't mean you are dirty its just that staph got into a pore and things happen.

Good Luck :-)

it sounds like you need to see a doctor. its a good idea not to try to lance it yourself. i would suspect he will put you on an antibiotic may lance it and give you some antibiotic sauve to put on it. but you need to get to a doctor or clinic

get your doctor for an antibiotic prescription or go to your nearest ER to get it incised and drained...im afraid these are the only things you can do about it....

ps: hygiene is very important, so take your shower daily.
