mine is a wind up and has a AM/FM radio, i got 2 and worth it!
if you're looking into one of those shake 'em flashlights make sure you got the real thing. that is, there is a real magnet that moves back and forth inside the tube and not just some metal ballast. i've seen rip offs of those, looks like the exact thing, has the led lights and works, but it dies off pretty soon because it runs on dry cell neatly tucked behind the led.

my grandpa has one, and it seems like a good idea to have one in a place that you can find when the power goes out or in your car or someplace that you don't have to think about it until you need one, and don't have to worry about keeping fresh batteries in it.
