What is a good little prayer to say with a baby or a little child. When I was little we said the "now I lay me down to sleep" one. I have a 10 month old and I want to start saying prayers with him.

Jesus, hold me in your loving arms,
keep me safe from all harm,
watch my mommy and my dad,
and all the friends I've ever had.
Keep grandma, grandpa safe tonight,
and wake us all in the morning light!

I just wrote that for you. May all the spirits watch over your precious child!

that's sweet of you - nice mommy. =)

ok here are some -found them at websites under childrens prayers or baby prayers, bedtime prayers so you may be able to find some more some I took exerpts from :

1)A Child's Prayer
Lord, teach a little child to pray,
And then accept my prayer;
For thou canst hear the words I say,
For thou art everywhere.
A little sparrow cannot fall
Unnoticed, Lord, by thee:
And though I am so young and small,
Thou dost take care of me.
Teach me to do the thing that's right
And when I sin, forgive;
And make it still my chief delight
To serve thee while I live.

2)I love you, God,
with all my might.
Keep me safe
all through the night

3)The sun so bright up in the sky.
The moon I see way, way up high!
The soft green grass, the plants, the trees
are special gifts
God made for me.

All the people that I love
are blessed by Jesus up above.
My neighbors, friends and family
are special gifts God gave to me.

What gift can I give you my God
in heaven up above?
The thing you want the most from me
is pure and simple- love

4)Angel of God, my Guardian Dear
To whom His love commits me here
Ever this day, be at my side,
To light and guard
To rule and guide

5)O Jesus, Jesus,
watch over me,
and take good care
of my family.
You know who they are,
but I'll name them all,
some are big
and some are small

hope these helped - I am sure with all of the ones everyone gave you may be busy learning them for a while but shoudl keep you busy =) good luck with the baby!! =)

You could try and have him pray with you for things that you both want. It's not like any child prayers and it can teach him how to make prayers that will help him out in the future. Just write them down and have him read them every so often.

That's the exact same on I said and I was gone tell you to use that one anyway. It's easy to learn things when they rhyme. You are a good mom for teaching prayer this early. Congrats.

We did that one "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, Your love be with me through the night, and wake me with the morning light."
and
Angel of God, My Guardian Dear

to whom God's love commits me here.

Ever this day/or night be at my side
to light and guard and rule and guide.

Amen.

There are four posters on my bed

There are four angels at it's head

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John

Bless this bed that I lie on!

I love you, God,

with all my might.

Keep me safe

all through the night.

I see the moon.

The moon sees me.

God bless the moon,

And God bless me.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Now I lay me down to sleep

I pray the Lord my soul to keep

Guard me Jesus through the night

And wake me with God's morning light!

Amen!

(I like this version because it omits the 'IF I SHOULD DIE BEFORE I WAKE part!) LOL

"What is a good little prayer to say with a baby or a little child."

There's no such thing, you shouldn't brainwash your child.

If the baby is the first, dedicate the baby to the Lord's service. Hannah gave Samuel to the Lord and she was blessed.
Ask the Lord to watch over the baby.
" " to prepare the baby.
" " to give you wisdom to care for the baby and raise.
