If there's no bar available I won't settle for less than a foot of space between my items and theirs. I thought it was just me that was so hyper about putting the bar there!

It bugs the living daylights out of me! Things would go so much faster and smoothly if both men and women (but usually men) would learn to use the bar to separate grocery orders. It is very annoying to have someone with very few groceries stand in front of you and not use the bar and does not move over to the check writing stand when his or her order is finished being tabulated by the cashier. Then some have the never to place their money right on the belt, further hampering the check-out process. If the bar is within my reach, and I am not getting in the way of the cashier, I almost always put the bar down myself. I always hope then that the person in front of me learns by my behavior.

Well, I put the bar up for them last week when I bought groceries and the check out girl never rang up 1/3 of my items and when I got home , 15 miles later I had to go back to get them and the girl said , " Oh, I must have thought they were for the people behind you ". I thought now there is one smart gal that thinks the groceries on my side of the bar belongs to the people behind me !!!:(

Sure...one time I was shopping and the cost were estimated to 26 dollars, but the total was 51 at the checkout. At first I was confused until I relized that some of the food were not mine and that some is missing...plus the person had too much grocries that it filled up the whole table that mixed up with mine. I easily frogive her, but my inner-self want to wail at her so bad that not even the strongest bouncer can't stop me. But I guess that happens every now and then.

I've found it's no big deal to reach out and place the bar between the two orders. It actually gives you something to do while you're waiting in line. If you're really annoyed about it, pick up two bars and start drumming. A few flashy paradiddles should get their attention...

If they don't, I do. People waiting to check out are often tired and zoning ,and simply don't think about it or don't want the person in front of them to feel rushed. I've probably forgotten to put the bar up a time or two, but not out of malice - just overwhelming fatigue.

Just group your groceries a few inches from theirs.

Well, sometimes, itjust annoys me when I have to tell the cashier that the items I'm paying for are not the person in front of me's.

Yes, It bother's me! And then you have to tell the cash that its not apart of your order or you have to seperate their food from their's. I automatically put it down because they are to lazy to put it down themself! Way to lazy!!! Thank you for asking this question!
