LoL that reminds me when I took my 2 kids their 3rd time to the zoo and the chimpanzee flipped us off...If she is very young she most likely wont remember the next visit to the zoo. If she's older, explain that not all Gorillas are like that. Some have more class than others like some humans. Good Luck.

She hates the zoo just because of the Gorilla's? What about all the other animals???? Get her some fish. They can't pick anything. Hope this helps.

No need to explain it. Next time, go to the zoo and visit the other animals. When she gets older, she'll understand more about the animal kingdom.
Meanwhile, here's a joke to go with your experience (for you to enjoy, and for your daughter when she appreciates gorillas more). I was reminded of it when I read your question.
Q: Why do gorillas have such big noses?
A: Because they have such big fingers!

Aww.She shouldn't hate the zoo just because of the Gorilla who picked his nose. They are wild animals living in cages. They are not taught to have manners so they don't know anybetter.
But tell her,i'm with her on the gross part. But to keep going to the zoo because it can be very educational and fun.

That will take some time as when I took my kids the gorilla picked up his poop and through it at us. I learned right there that they are very smart and get sick of humans staring at them on display. I think the zoo is wrong now and should only be available to help endangered species .

if your daughter wasn't amused, then the zoo might not be for her. I went to the zoo once and got a whole sex ed class out of it from the gorillas...hehehe.

maybe the gorilla was very depressed and agitated, a phony 1 acre enclosure and fences don't do it when your instinct is a food gatherer and you can cover miles in a day. and be a real gorilla! and not have a million funny looking things looking at you all the time.

I think your daughter needs to pay more attention to the fact that the Gorillas look sad and depressed and they dont need to be locked up in our world.
