Well, there's 60 minutes to an hour...... say you had 4 hours and 34 minutes and 1 hour 59 minutes. That would equal 5 hours and 93 minutes. Subtract 60 minutes from 93 and you get 33 minutes. So the answer is 6 hours and 33 minutes.

Really there is no magic formula for adding minutes and hours. You just have to remember that 60 minutes=1 hour. You might want to just add all the minutes up first, then divide by 60 to get the number of hours. Your remainder is the minutes.

What problem are you working on? Do you have an example?

2 hours and 15 minutes plus 4 hours and 35 minutes would equal 6 hours and 50 minutes... what's so hard about that?

Yes.
First, convert all hours to minutes.
Then Add all the minutes together.
Then divide the total by 60 to give you the number of hours with the minutes left over.
