A cups, definitely. Shopping with someone for DDDD clothes is a pain in the ***, and it's really hard to cuddle with pumpkins in the way--not to mention the inertia on those would be very, very dangerous in, um, more vigorous activities--especially those not involving supportive clothing.
I think once you think about the physics involved, you'll see the definite benefits in smaller sizes. :P
