There have been a few times in my life where I felt like I fell away from God, but He always brought me back. My prayer for myself every day is that even when I don't feel like following Him, He'll give me the desire to do so anyway. Jesus is my Rock and my Security. He's all I'll ever need!

I probably backslide daily. Such is the nature of living a Christian life.
Your example of St Peter is the perfect prototype of how we are to handle are continual stumbling, though. When we fall into sin and forsake Christ, we must quickly repent with tear-filled eyes and ask our Lord to pardon our weakness.
In some sense, the goal in Christian life is not to never fall but to always get up when we do, hopefully having become a bit wiser.

Yes we "Christians" all do because we aren't perfect. Personally it was learning about other religions that made me doubtful in some aspects of being Christian what some say is correct is incorrect or sinful in another. You know in your heart what's right from wrong. The Indians didn't know Jesus and pretty much led a clean and wholesome life and believed in a God or God's. If you believe in your heart that the things you do are pleasing in the eyes of the Lord than I don't think it will be held against us. After all God and Jesus know that we are imperfect.

I still love Jesus but I have been up and down for a long time now. Lifes trials tend to way us down and its hard to stay strong. I wish I could say its been a cake walk but I dont think it is or has been for anyone. You are not alone if your story is the same.

I once walked with Jesus when I was younger b/c I was made by my parents. I wouldn't so much say that I don't believe in Jesus, but we don't take regular walks anymore. I am a more spiritual believer. I believe in different things of different religions.

I backslide so much you'd wonder how I still have any hide left, but I keep getting back up and taking another stab at it. I'm so very glad He's as forgiving and as merciful as I hear He is. God Bless you.

i have...this is one point that non-believers seem to have the hardest time understanding...we don't become perfect once we accept Christ...we're still human, and we still struggle with the same stuff everyone else does to some degree...it is a marathon, not a sprint...in a sprint, one stumble can cost you the race-in a marathon, you get back up, keep running, keep moving toward the finish line, and try not to keep making the same mis-steps along the way

I have made many mistakes, but do not consider myself a hypocrite. I would never point out to someone something they are doing wrong and then go commit the act myself. I am judge nor jury of anyone other than myself.
