just ask Jesus to become your Savior. He's paved the path for you to get to Heaven, you simply have to acknowledge Him, and you get to walk the path! He paved it for you two millenia ago. He is longing for you to become His child. don't turn Him down. He is your only hope.
if you want to go to Heaven when you die, accept Jesus. say this prayer (it can be outloud or to yourself--either way God knows your heart and your thoughts) NO STRINGS ATTACHED.
"Jesus, I know what you did for me. I know I am a sinner, I know I don't deserve you. But, by your grace I am saved. I ask you now to come into my heart and become my Light in the dark, my Comforter and my Best Friend. Thanks God for allowing Me to have a way to enter Heaven. In Jesus's name, Amen."
Thats all. If you said that prayer, and meant it with all of your heart, soul, and mind, you are ETERNALLY SECURE IN GOING TO HEAVEN! Congratulations, you did it. God bless those who meant that prayer.

Jesus is the only way. Good works won't cut it. If good works cut it, then Jesus wouldn't have had to die! GETTING TO HEAVEN IS BY FAITH ALONE IN JESUS CHRIST!

Jesus died for all sins. Yes, you can murder, commit, rape, suicide..whatever. Jesus died for that sin. He forgives you. you still get disciplined for it though. no matter what you do, if you accept Jesus, you go directly to Heaven when you die! thats ALL! NOTHING ELSE. YOU ARE ETERNALLY SECURE!

once you accept Jesus, try to live the best that you can! try to do good things. just because you are saved doesn't give you the right to sin, just redemption of that sin!

The "sinner's prayer" is NOT IN THE BIBLE. See what IS IN THE BIBLE.
Matt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only those who do what my Father in heaven wants will enter.”
Ac 2:37 When the people heard this, their hearts were filled with shame. They said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Just accepting Jesus as savior is not all you have to do. you have to live your life as much in his footsteps as possible. if you accept Jesus, but continue to be mean or lie or live in sin, then you aren't "accepting Jesus" Just to believe isn't enough. Even the devil believed that Jesus was Christ. Not to say that being a sinner is bad. We all are! It becomes bad, when you choose not to repent, to ask God for forgiveness, and to try and live in Christ's example.

not!
how can you tell someone "if you want to build a tower all you have to do is say 'i want a tower' and then mean it with all your heart and it will be so"?
this is the most irresponsible thing you can do!
to reduce the choice of following Jesus Christ to an uninformed prayer!
If one wants everlasting life one actually has to follow Jesus example, and continue to do so for the rest of their life.
If one stops then they return to the status of awaiting destruction. You are much mistaken.
Pop Christendom is the biggest insult to the difficult path Jesus blazed to save us. Treat it with the deep respect it deserves. And stop slandering "the way".

Thank you...I suppose. But I have a question, then. Why would God only allow those who believe in his son to live in paradise? What about those who are simply good and kind, who have never cheated on their partner, never stolen, never killed, etc....do they not go to even if they don't believe in Jesus? And what about those who believe that lie, steal, cheat, and hurt ohters, but simply ask for forgiveness? Do they get in? I am asking this in all honesty, because I don't understand.
'If God is so narrow-minded that he cannot accept me for who I am, then perhaps he is no God, but man endowed with understanding."

Eternally secure? Thats where you are wrong. You must die with that belief, not just believe it a day and sin to the max the rest of your life. Also, you are forgeting baptism to wash away your sin. Are you baptist by any chance? lol
Jesus said, " Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die." (John 11:25-26)

I don't. In heaven there is no beer, that's why we drink it here.
If all Christians will go to heaven, how will Christ's prophecy that the meek shall inherit the earth be fulfilled. ( Matthew 5:5)
Also, all the resurrections recorded in the Bible happened on earth--not in heaven.
So, where did you get the idea that Christians go to heaven when they die?
