How often do you pray? Do you have a set routine of the prayers you say, or do you talk to God like you would a friend? How do you start your prayers? Do you kneel at your bed, or pray as you do other things during the day? I always start with the Lord's prayer, then I thank God for all the blessings of my day, then I ask for forgiveness for my sins or mistakes of my day, then pray for help with things and pray for who I talked to who needs help. I was just interested in how you pray.

I pray constantly throughout the day. I do have a set time during the day that I spend more time in prayer, but most of the time I talk to God all the time, as things come up through the day. There are times that I kneel, but most of the time I do not since I am sometimes at work or driving my car or other things like that.

The thing about the Lord's prayer is that ironically, if you read the passage it is found in, Jesus used it to show how we should not do like the pagans and just repeat the same words over and over again. So repeating it over and over seems to put us more in the category of the pagans that He was condemning there. I do think the Lord's prayer is a good guideline on the things to include in your prayer, but I don't really see value in just repeating the same words all the time.

As I said, I don't follow any specific guidelines when I pray, but I once learned the ACTS system and I think that also is a good way to guide what you pray.

A = adoration (praising God)
C = confession (agreeing with God on your sins)
T = thanksgiving
S = supplication (asking God for things)

seems lately, i pray all day long. my favorite prayers is with a rosary. (which by the way is very misunderstood by a lot of people.) the "mysteries of the rosary tell the story of the life, death and resurrection of our Lord. the glorious mysteries, the joyful mysteries, the luminous mysteries and the sorrowful mysteries. the rosary is all about our Lord and it keeps my focus on our Lord all day. Sure, I pray to God as I would talk to a friend. He is the best friend a person will ever have. I know a lot of people will see this and say the rosary is all about Mary, but it's not. Mary deserves to receive honor for being chosen the mother of our Lord, but the rosary is as I said before, the life, death and resurrection of our Lord. Keep your humble heart my friend. All prayers are heard by our Lord. The asking for forgiveness thing, fantastic. Every day. Forgive us Father, for we have sinned. You are on a good road for your life. Keep God center, and you will be truely blessed. Always keep in mind, God will never put us through anything that He won't pull us through. God Bless You.

I pray constantly throughout most of the day. We're told that God is with us always, so why not talk to Him? I never use repetitive prayers and would liken my prayers more to conversations than anything else. Sometimes I do most of the talking and sometimes I just listen. Unfortunately, like many I often am babbling when I should be listening.

Hey, i like to pray in the morning to start my day and usually its sitting in the bathroom as i read my daily devotion and I talk to God like I would a friend, and I also tell him to forgive my sinful actions, thoughts, etc... and pray for others and it feels real good to just throw the wave of prayer to him during the day as you go about regular routine and kinda silently give stuff over to him. God is always listening and knows from our hearts, we are so blessed, and He is awesome.......nothing compares to conversations alone with God and then knowing the answers come....so good!!!!!!!!!!!

I pray upon awakening in the morning. I pray a rosary on the way to my work for my children, wife, friends, and those that I promised prayer. I do not listen to the troubles of the world until I have my personal conversation with Jesus. I attend daily Mass at lunch to receive Jesus in flesh and word. I pray before bed every evening.

I pray in common prayers like the Our Father, the Hail Mary, an Ancient Jewish prayer, an Act of Contrition, I pray by silence, or by friendship conversation with Jesus.

I kneel at times, I sit, I lay comfortably, I stand, I walk. I always start with the sign of the cross, In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

I pray in thanksgiving for God's presence in my life, I pray for forgiveness for the times that I fail our friendship, I ask for help for me or for others who need God's love, I pray to worship God alone because He is God.

I am amazed how active Jesus is involved in our world, how engaged He is in the everyday activities around us.

I try to pray at set times.( but have been procrastinating, thank you for reminding me) but I also pray at any given moment through out the day when I just talk to God and thank Him or see a ambulance and pray for the person that may be near death. There is one verse that says we should pray without ceasing and Just talking to God as a Father type is a lot easier to do that then if you attach a lot of tradition and things to prayer to do it just right to suit you

No I do not have a set routine. I pray to the Holy Ghost, to Jesus and to the Father. I pray throughout the day, sometimes in simple praise and sometimes asking for help. I find the Lord is never very far from my mind. I love Him dearly.

Well the way you pray is simple just simply talk to god like you would to anyone else remember god knows how you are so don't try to keep things from him because he knows I would say don't be afraid to talk to god tell him when your mad, sad, happy just be real with him and about how you pray pick which ever positions better you can kneel when you pray or sit on your bed or just go to the alter and when you pray don't just pray only when you want things pray often and keep in touch with god I'm always here if you want to talk

Understanding the Rationalizations

You can find many believers who will say,

"The reason why scientific experiments fail to detect God is because God must remain hidden. He does not answer prayers if he knows that he will be detected."

In order to see the truth, you need to accept that this explanation is silly. If God must remain hidden, then he cannot answer any prayers. Any "answered prayer" would expose God.

The whole notion that "God" must remain "hidden" is a total cross-threading of religious doctrine. On the one hand, believers will say that "God wrote the Bible, God incarnated himself and died on the cross for us, and God answers millions of prayers on earth every day." Then in the next breath they will say, "God must remain hidden." God obviously cannot "remain hidden" and "incarnate himself." These two items are mutually exclusive. Therefore, the explanation that "God must remain hidden" is impossible. As soon as you accept how impossible it is, you can begin to see see that God is imaginary.

In order to see the truth, you need to accept the fact that the scientific evidence is accurate and irrefutable. We have scientifically proven that God does not answer any prayers on earth. Every single "answered prayer" is nothing more than a coincidence.

We can see reality by looking at a simple example. Imagine that the rate of remission for some particularly nasty type of cancer is 5%. That means that if 20 people get this type of cancer, it is almost always fatal. Only one in twenty of the people who get the disease will survive. Knowing this, you can see what happens if we actually analyze prayer:

20 believers contract the disease
All of them have read James 5:15, so all of them pray.
19 of them die

The one who lives proclaims, "I prayed to the Lord and the Lord answered my prayers! My disease is cured! It is a miracle! I KNEW God would answer my prayers!"

You never hear about the 19 who died. No one ever writes about them in a magazine. "Person prays, then dies" is not a great headline. And since they are dead, you will never hear from any of these people.

Therefore, if you don't look at all the facts around the "answered prayer," and you only hear about the one out of twenty prayers that succeed, it appears that prayer is successful.

The fact is, believers who pray die from this disease at exactly the same rate as people who do not.

We can see the reality of this situation simply by opening our eyes and looking at the data. But we do have to open our eyes -- We have to look at both the successes AND the failures of prayer to see the reality of our world. When we take a scientific approach and we do look at both sides, we see what is really happening. God does not answer any prayers because God is imaginary.

Suppose we've chosen the wrong god.
Every time we go to church we're just making him madder and madder.

I pray at all different times. The apostle Paul said to pray
without ceasing. So I pray when the HOLY SPIRIT leads
me to. I also pray for forgiveness, my needs & wants and
I pray for the needs & wants of others(not always in that order)
GOD BLESS.
