you should just tell her and dont be afraid to ask questions either like what kind of pad or tampons you should use. i just started my period too. at first i was afraid to tell my mom but when i did she totally understood. i dont think your too young to start using tampons. they are more comfortable and less messy. if you still dont feel comfortable talking to your mom you can always tell an aunt or a sister or friend. you can also go to like kotex.com or something to get more information on your period the website should have like a q/a section if you have any akward questions that you dont feal comfortable asking someone you know.

I had this same problem when I first got my period and I lived with my dad. Just go up to your mom and say "I started my period I might need some [whateveryouneed]." She'll understand.

You could do what I did and that was jsut start leaving pad or tampon wrappers on TOP of the trash in the trash can. It works if you are the oldest girl in your family. But what you really need to do is to just tell her. She is a girl too, she understands.

when I started mine, I thought I was dying and I called her at work and she started laughing.
Just tell her. what is she going to do. She would probably be happy you started it. It's a milestone, a coming of age, a growing up sort of thing. :)

well it is not really a big deal. just tell her, or she'll have to find out in the laundry. by the way, this is a girl talking, not a boy. I'm just using my dad's user.
