start dating when you think you are ready. there is no set time you should wait. especially in your situation - since you all grew apart the last three months or so. Usually when that happens the couple should have broken up 3 months ago. So you could already be over him.

I have the same type of relationship right now with someone that I'm really in love with... So i totally understand... Send him an E-mail... Give it some thought... Pick the right words... Don't rush him... But hook him... Be sharp... Send it and let things cultivate... If he really is the one, he'll write back with the same fashion... And if you guys are meant to be... Then fate will bring you guys close... But be patient... Give every "move" you make some time...
Good luck
(Oh! And a letter would be better... But I don't know if you have his address... So... Its up to you...)

Don't jump right back in the water after you almost drown. give yourself time to get your head straight, otherwise you'll make another mistake. The temtation to start dating right away is normal, because you want to feel "special" to someone right now. If you wait a little while, you'll be able to choose that person more carefully.

Whenever you are ready. Just hang out with friends and who knows, maybe your future husband will be a friend of a friend. I met my husband (of 8 yrs now!) when I finally quit looking!

date when you're ready - you can't put a time frame on it - you'll just know when you know - your next dude may just be a transitional guy but just do what you heart tells you to do
