There is no reason to dislike one religion completely. I will always stick up for the good Muslims that I know, because I know that many of them are wonderful, caring, friendly, outgoing and loyal individuals.

I have hung out with the same group of Muslims for many many years growing up in Michigan. I am a Christian caucasian, born in Germany. Weird, huh? One thing is they do love working hard for their money and they like to show it off, but that's because their native country is so harsh. Look at them on TV - wouldn't you want to escape what they have to go through? Many Americans have it so easy - we are lucky.

Don't put down an entire religion because you aren't informed enough on them. Get to know and experience several people from a race, religion or whatever else until you start to judge. Be more open-minded and caring towards other human beings. Then this world will start to get better.

Hate and violence breeds on questions like these. You should be ashamed for asking this question.

I personally have no qualms with Muslims. I believe them to be a fine group of people but upon asking some of my more biggoted friends, I got these various responses.

1. Many of my friends have experienced racism, with Muslims being the perpetrators.

2. They tend to have a more group mentality of us vs. them. Them usually being non-Muslims and thus tend to isolate themselves away from the rest of society and then wonder why no one accepts them.

3. The few who perpetrate terrorism and dance in the streets when innocents are killed are not condemned publically by more moderate Muslims.

I have found though that in general, people who don't like Muslims have not had much contact with them and are ignorant of the faith in general. The media doesn't help their image much either. And I have to agree with #3, it would be better if more imams across the Western world condemned terrorism on a much larger scale.

For one to understand can help one tolerate or accept differences in others. I understand Muslims have their own name for God ( Allah ) and Heaven ( Mecca?? I'm not clearly sure of that one). So, along with other varying religious differences, their beliefs parallel ours in several ways.

Blacks enter the Muslim faith, largely influenced by Muhammad Ali, as part of the American "black experience" thing. They go into the faith blindly angry.......and eventually continue on in the Muslim faith.....either striving to diffuse their angers or acheiving a calmer state of existance. What is wrong with that?

By the flip of the coin, post-9/11 Americans look upon Arabic descent Muslims with a heavy brow of suspicion and hatred. And sadly, we must: for there are many in the USA who are just as frenzied in their hatred of our country as the hijackers carrying out Osama bin Laden's orders. One need only to make the effort to manage that suspicion and contact law enforcement if one has merit to suspect one of foul play.

Otherwise, we must also accept the fact that PURE Muslims are NOT frenzied murderous terrorists.......and they can be and are a huge help for US law enforcement to find the bad guys and put those jackals behind bars so they can't harm or kill innocent Americans or anyone else.

I do not dislike them offhand, I just dont buy into the islamic philosophy. Convert or die didn't work during the crusades and it wont work now. I think the muslims in the midle east have the idea that we want to convert them to christianity. All we realy want to do is put a stop to the extremist "convert or die " terrorists.

As a man who goes down a road less traveled I find myself learning from them and greatly admiring some of their teachings. I cling to no religion at all, but seek the truth from God alone. As a servant I have been led here to see the same teachings as in the bible. Some text may vary, but the message is the same. Find GOD, or face a horror in eternity.

I dislike Islam very slightly more than I dislike Christianity, but I have no problem with individual Muslims.

Because Muslims do not turn in the fanatical/radicals that believe all infidels must die. If Musilims would rise up and self police their own countries then the world would not paint all with the same brush!

I don't like anybody that decides it's okay to kill me or my family or my country in the name of their god. It's not Muslims in general, I hope there are many that do not agree with the secular mandate of their leaders but are too weak to be able to speak out against it.

Since I haven't met all Muslims, I can't really say. I liked the ones I knew, but that was a long time ago. they could've all changed by now, I guess.
