Pre-School- Kids basically learn what it's like to be in a social setting and get used to routines. They also start learning colors, numbers, and their alphabet.
Kindergarten- They learn to read and spell very simple words, they learn about Johnny Appleseed and Christopher Columbus, they start making friends, they do basic adding and subtracting, and learn to put things in order by size, shape, color, etc.
First Grade- They learn about George Washington & Abraham Lincoln, they do very simple science experiments, they do basic adding and subtracting working up to the number 12, they learn about the 4 seasons and the 12 months in a year, they learn to read a simple map and know north, south, east & west, they learn to read more difficult books, and they learn to spell more words and put them in alphabetical order.
This is as far as I've gotten-- my little boy starts 2nd grade in 2 weeks. :)
