How do I freakin tell him good-bye without hurting him?

I love my boyfriend dearly. We have been together 2years. But he has developed into an alcholic and is doing nothing with his life. He is my best friend and I still want to have contact with him. But I feel as if I deserve a better lover. Everytime I try to say good-bye, he ignores it or doesn't take me seriously. And I know he has a temper, ecspecially when he has liquor in his body.(everyday).
How do I use my words?

Telling someone goodbye is not always easy. You have no control over how someone will react to what you do or say. If you're not happy where you are with the person, do not stay there. Your happiness is just as important as his happiness. Both parties in a relationship should be happy. In the long run it will be better. If you were him, how would you want the break up to go? My best advice. Unfortunately,it will NEVER work as a friendship. If he is an alcoholic, run. Your words? I would not say anything to lead him on in the sense that you really DON"T mean what you say. Tell him, "It's over. You are not the man I want to spend my life with. I can't care about you when you don't care about yourself. Do not contact me. Goodbye." That will be harder than hard, but do it. Move on. Do NOT contact him. Do not answer desperate phone calls, IM's or emails. Flowers don't matter. No contact. Get a new man. Don't be upset when he moves on, too. Because she will be getting a guy who drinks too much and is probably going to make a horrible husband and dad. Good luck, honey.

sometimes we have to make choices in life and they are not alwayes easy,if you really love this guy tell him he needs to get help with his drinking promblem.if he does not want to the only choice you have is too walk away,maybe that would open his eyes .and the fact that he gets a temper when he drinks that is a very bad thing i was with this guy who was like that and he was abusive to me.so my advice and i tell you this from experience sit him down when is sober and tell him either he changes or its over.or it maybe to late if you really want to end it just tell him ...i wish you luck..................
