INGREDIENTS:

* 3 (12 ounce) packages refrigerated biscuit dough
* 1 cup white sugar
* 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 1/2 cup margarine
* 1 cup packed brown sugar
* 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
* 1/2 cup raisins

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 or 10 inch tube pan.
2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut biscuits into quarters. Shake 6 to 8 biscuit pieces in the sugar cinnamon mix. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan. Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in pan. If using nuts and raisins, arrange them in and among the biscuit pieces as you go along.
3. In a small saucepan, melt the margarine with the brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits.
4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate. Do not cut! The bread just pulls apart.

Just buy the Pillsbury biscuit dough in those little cans. Pop it open and form the dough into a bunch of little balls. Then brush on melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar (and nuts if you wish).

You can put the balls together in a loaf pan and bake it (for however long the biscuit dough says, I think it's 350 for 30-35 minutes, you'll have to check though).

It's really simple. Some people like to sprinkle with powdered sugar or put a little molasses in the melted butter. You can get creative with it to suit your tastes.

Monkey Bread

Prep Time: 30 min
Total Time: 3 hr 0 min
Makes: 1 loaf or 20 servings, 1 slice each

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup milk

3/4 cup plus 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, divided

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 pkg. active dry yeast

1/2 cup warm water (105°F to 115°F)

5 cups flour, divided

1 egg

PLACE milk, 1/2 cup of the butter, the sugar and salt in small saucepan; cook on low heat just until milk is warm and butter is melted. Set aside. Sprinkle yeast over warm water in large bowl; stir until yeast is completely dissolved. Stir in milk mixture. Add 3 cups of the flour; stir until well blended. Add egg; mix well. Gradually add enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough, stirring until well blended after each addition. Place in greased bowl. Melt remaining butter; brush 1 Tbsp. of the butter onto top of dough. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place about 1 hour or until doubled in volume.

PUNCH down dough; divide into 2-1/2-inch balls. Dip balls in remaining melted butter; place in layers in 10-inch tube pan. Place on baking sheet; cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place 45 min. or until doubled in volume.

PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Bake, uncovered, 40 to 45 min. or until golden brown. Cool 5 min.; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely. Cut into 20 slices to serve.
