You know the product you make chipped beef with. I prefer to use the Buddig product . But sometimes I buy the jar product, you just have to rinse the salt away. Yes, I make Chipped Beedf on Toast or baked potato.

Try this - after rinsing it thoroughly to get rid of most of the salt, use 1 or 2 packages of gravy mix (depending on how many servings you need). Prepare your gravy mix and add your dried beef to the water as it is boiling, then you can add your gravy mix/water combo and wallah! You have chip beef gravy. Serve with canned biscuits and some fried sausage - great for supper too!!

Ok....number 1) ewww, number 2) that's gotta be one of the most unhealthy foods I can think of and 3) unlike the poor SOB soldiers who had nothing else to eat, delicious, nutritious fresh meat is available everywhere for very cheap. I mean, hell, I despise MRE's, but I would eat one of those waaaaaay before I resorted to SOS.

chop it up fine, add to cream cheese and chopped green onion, makes a great spread for crackers, i make if for the holidays.
