To answer your question: Your PC is fine to handle Win98 Plus, the minimum RAM required is 64 MB. And as far as it only working for 30 days - Not True, as long as you have the original OEM Number that it ask for when installing, it will install and stay there until you remove or uninstall it. Unlike WindowsXP, this one does not make you activate it, and as far as Microsoft, they are discontinuing support for Win98 and ME, so in laten terms, it becomes freeware, no support, no terms of agreement.... Good Luck
FootNote: As far as upgrades for Win98, there are several "trusted" websites that offer the upgrades for it in One Complete Download. Look on MajorGeeks....

Wouldn't be much point in upgrading to 98 plus. For two reason, if it is installed on another computer, it will not work on yours because of Microsoft EULA, it may work for 30 days, but after that it wont.
Also Microsoft is dropping support for windows 98 only XP SP2 and higher, will have support, which includes important windows update. Anything lower will no longer get updates.

first, they are both windows 98. Second, your PC runs fine with win98, no need to upgrade it. Third, Risk of deleting important files.
