This was not ment to be a question involving racisim. I am just tired of things like its a police person and not a police man. You have to say flight attendant and not stewardess. stuff like that. I don't agree with racism. And no to the guy who ask if I would mind being called gay....go for it. Who cares. I am german...can me a square head and Nazi if it makes you feel better. But that is racism. I do not agree with that. God loves all.

I hate the fact that people are no longer saying Merry Christmas...now its Happy Holidays so as not exclude anyone. I refuse to give into this..if I am speaking with someone, say, of the Jewish faith, I wish them a Happy Chanakah, and they in turn wish me the same or Merry Christmas.

Yep! Such an asinine concept began with the touchy-feel-good crowd of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Unless obscene, some people are too hung up on names for themselves.

I am not an American Indian, but I am a native-American, born as a citizen in the U.S.A. I love tweaking certain people about that.

Yep, completely, and I'm pretty much a feminist. I still call the mailperson the mailman. I don't care what the gender is.
Unfortunately, we have these arrogant asses in society who can't just be nice! So society has had to come up with a way to effectively force them to. Sad really.

Yeah I agree. People take it WAY too far. Like calling them snow people instead of snowman? Come on....
And the whole not being able to say Merry Christmas thing. REALLY gets on my last nerve. I say it to everybody anyway! :)

I agree, it has gotten out of control. I will accept political politeness but leave common sense it. Too many races, religions and other groups want to be treated with respect. I say to get it you must give it first.

No I'm not sick of political correctness. What's wrong with taking others feelings under consideration? The platinum rule afterall, is to treat others the way they want to be treated.

I know, I made the mistake of addressing a 'mailman'.
But do I act insulted when a clerk refers to me as ma'am? No.
