The car you drive to take your license test needs to be insured. If you drive someone elses car, just show that persons insurance. If you already purchased your own car, you can insure that car with out a license, but it will be expensive. I reccomend, taking your license test with a friend or relatives car, then once licensed, getting insurnace on your own car.

You only need insurance if you own a vehicle. There are millions of licensed drivers who do not own cars and therefore do not need insurance.
And you don't even need a license to own a car and insure it. You just can't drive it yourself, that's all.

If you own a vehicle, you should have insurance on it even if you don't have your license to drive yet. Then when you do get the license you won't have to wait.
