The best way I have found to house break, is crate training. My boxer was in a crate from the first day we had him at 6weeks. at 3 months of age he was house broken, he did have a few accidents because at that age they cant hold it that long. He is 6 months now. and totally housebroken.
Crate training is also safe for your puppy because he will be in a safe place while he is home alone.

There are many sites on the web that teaches about Crate training.

Puppies are like people. The body has to mature to be able to have control.

First, limit the area your puppy has, like the kitchen. In a small area, put down a cut plastic bag to protect the floor and put down newspaper. Every time the puppy goes on the paper, praise and praise again. This will teach the puppy that when it cannot go outside this is the okay place to go.

Next every time the puppy wakes up OR eats OR drinks take it outside immediately. Pick it up, dont let it follow you because it will tinkle along the way. When it goes outside PRAISE it and after pick it up and tell it how good a dog it is.

After it has gone potty, then let it enjoy more of the house.

At night you can use the contained area or a large kennel box. Line the box with paper at one end by the door. Put a towel at the other end so the puppy has a comfy place to sleep. Put the kennel box besides the bed. Before you go to bed and put the puppy in the kennel box, take it outside. IF the puppy has an accident at night it is easy to change the paper or replace/wash the towel. A dog does not want to mess where it lives.

IF the puppy has an accident, pick it up and either take it to the contained area or outside. Then say "go potty." A dog is smart and learns quickly where it is allowed to go potty.

Puppies will tend to go potty where they have had a previous accident because of the smell. Get a very large bottle/container of WHITE vinegar (only white) and clean the spot where it went. The vinegar will not hurt the carpet or other flooring. Vinegar removes those odors.

But remember, a dog takes time for the body to mature so don't expect immediate results.

A few ideas. What dimension is the crate? It perhaps a tad large if he's peeing in it. Take him out extra most commonly - after each and every meal, each and every drink of water, each and every nap, proper earlier than mattress, and proper upon wakening (earlier than you even get to move). Get an exceptional agenda down and be constant. When you set him external, you have got to pass with him. It's a anguish, however take him to a targeted potty discipline (ideally wherein the opposite puppy is going and stand there, supply him the command "Go potty" and wait until he is going. Then compliment him to the top heavens. Clean the spots he is hit within the condominium with an excessively well product. The pleasant I've ever located is referred to as Urine-off - you'll get it from vets and on-line. Nothing else you'll uncover in a puppy retailer, adding Nature's Miracle works as good. If you'll nonetheless scent the pee, he can and he's going to comment it.

New puppies are fun, but a lot of work. Female dogs tend to take longer to house train as well. Try keeping her on a leash when you take her outside. When she is done doing her business, then let her off the leash ( if in a fenced in yard ) and play with her or give her treats, which ever she responds best to. If you do this every time you take her out, when she is potty trained, then she will know that when she goes out, the first thing she has to do is go potty, then she is free to play. Puppies need to go out when the are done eating, sleeping and playing. When you are not home, try crating her or leaving her in a small area of the house with some food and water. Dogs tend to not go potty in the same place that they eat and sleep. Good luck with your new pup!

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aNNQs

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Going to the door is separate training than learning to pee outside. First you really need to teach her that outside is where to go, so you put her on an eating/ pooping schedule. They eat, you play a little, then you take her on a leash where you want her to go. (It's best to keep an untrained dog on a leash anyway, so if the pup isn't with the schedule, you can catch it, then take her out.) Puppies do best on a schedule. Very young ones need to go out w/in 3-4 hrs. Their bladders will grow. I don't miss the 4am.outings. Anyway, when they are peeing where you want, you party with them. I always put a name on the bahavior, so mine will go on command, which is handy. I use "Squat". There are numerous. As they get good at going out, they develop behaviors that tell you they want out. Going to the door and looking at me just happened after she knew she really wanted to go outside. Books told me I could train her in like 2 wks., but it really didn't fully kick in 100% til more like 2 mos. So, beat yourself up, if you are doing what you should be and it's not having immediate success.

You have to start taking her outside at a set schedule two or three times a day. And you shouldn't come back in until she pee's. She'll then start getting used to going outside.

each time you take her out to pee take treats with you. when she pees give her a treat and make a huge fuss over her. when she comes inside give her another one. being repetitious will pay off in the end. She will eventually associate treats with being outside. That in turn will make her go to the door to go out. Even if you think she does not have to go, go anyway. after about a week she will no longer go in the house.

Take her out for every 4 hours, after she eats, when she gets up, after her nap & before bed time

Also always prise where with a treat or say "Good Girl" but always give her a minute b/c she will sniff, run, swirl in circles etc

Also if you want her to get used to the command say "Go Potty"

i just had a puppy recently and to train her we made sure that we took her to the same spot every time she went out...and that seemed to work...also be sure the puppy realizes there is a difference between a time for play and a time to do her business...also if you are crate training him/her be sure to let it out every time ofter you let him/her out of the crate and also after playing a lot or taking a nap...good luck!
